Kawasaki Warranty not covering broken spark plug
At first they said they would cover it, now they're saying they won't. Who could I contact to have this looked into?... this is due to faulty Kawi parts

I would be calling corprate Kawasaki asap. Tim if you have a minute look at Thirteens time slip thread and see if you can answer his question as his set-up is real close to yours

I would take this to the highest level...we are talking about a single spark plug, after all.

OK so Here's the verdict, I've called the warranty company(Wachovia-4 year extended) and spoke to the highest person(Lisa), they won't cover it due to a clause in the Contract that excludes Spark plugs(WTF). I then called Kawi(949-460-5688) and they won't cover anything over 12months. I've tried being calm and the situation provoked me to becoming more aggitated but no cursing. Basically they told me I'm screwed!
If product was made and it was "perfect" why offer a warranty? Obviously "warranty" was thought of to replace/fix a faulty part or design. I'm not talking about tires or battery, this is a faulty spark plug!
My opinion of Kawasaki Just went into the toilet.
WORD TO THE WISE>>>>DON'T BUY A WARRANTY!!!! IT'S A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BMW or BUSA are looking MUCH BETTER!

WTF are you talking about??
You are trashing Kawasaki when the warranty is through the bank???
A fucking $8 spark plug and you are trashing Kawasaki...when it is outside of the factory warranty???
Spark plugs are a disposable item...are you expecting a warranty on the oil???
Read your warranty before you buy it. Jesus.

That's how pretty much all warranties work regardless of vehicle make. None of the consumable items are warranted.
Now NGK might have a warranty and can pay for the damage their plug caused. There is a paper trail now and that will help for going after NGK.

I would never buy the warranty for a bike . As a matter of fact Me and my dad cancelled both warranties on our 14's and had the cost prorated back to us.
Thanks to the convenience of having an M.C. shop our bikes never see stealerships so the warranty was useless to us.

Definitely give the plug company a call and yank their chains hard too - they're more likely to surcome to fixing your bike than getting sued

Yep the plugs not actually a kawasaki part, thats why they're not covering it. You need to go after the plug maker, which I believe is indeed NGK. Give it a shot, with the paper trail you have, you have lots of proof, and nothing to lose.

I can't believe this much controversy over a spark plug... Now if it made another part of the bikethats one thing.

Well, I learn something every day! This is only my 5th bike owned so I'm a bit green when it comes to issues like this.
Shane, I don't have the experience in this area of life compared to you, however in hind singht I should've just worked on the bike myself like I've always have. I will NEVER get a extended warranty again!!
Read your warranty before you buy it. Jesus.
So this is the only circumstance that you get religious? Well, it worked! No problem...
