WELL call CECIL at HTP hell give you the facts 804-340-0800

Cecil has installed one of these same exact heads on one of his customers bikes but with slightly different cams. It made by far more power than any zx14 he ever had on his dyno.
In fact he told me the other day that his customer went 8.03 at 170 I think it was. His name is Shawn and weighs 230 pounds. That's all motor. 265 hp on Cecils dyno.

Let me correct part of my previous post..... Rickeys bike did make 246 hp on Cecils dyno with his "original" cnc ported head and cams, AFTER I sent him a set of 47mm throttle bodies to try.

Dont even make me bring up the dyno and track testing and comparison data of our Busa heads vs "other" CNC ported heads on the market. You don't even want to go there.

You should try one of our heads. They are engineered not just ported. There is a difference.

WERENT the big throttle bodies on your head also ??SO yes Rickey did make 246 with the same throttle bodies and that was with a stock valve street head not the BIG CARPENTER head comparing apples to oranges whats the point ??? TALKING TRASH

Not to step on anyone's toe's but Mr. Gadson its a rider tuner racer sharing information with those who rid Kaws. Not to many guys come on line and give away info like he is doing so I applaud him for being a great guy. Now this go's out to all hatters please stop hating on good info if you don't have anything good to say please stop messing up good post and discouraging smart people from post good info. Ricky thanks for the good info with graphs to show us what’s really going on in your world on your bike. Although I’m not a Kaw. Rider knowing what works helps me not waist time with what doesn’t so keep up with the good work both on the track and off.

Ps. I’m still jealous of you AFRICA trip.

He doesn't work for Carpenter.. That 14 is a customer of Bobs and i seen it go 170.. Jim does his job for sure. But remember the cams that came out of Bobs head are just .385,. Trust me if Bob worked hard enough on the 14 and actually tried bigger cams etc, his head would make more power then it did with the .385s.. I mean its that simple. I mean he's making over 250hp with the Triumph rocket..Not taking anything away from Jim work at all nor am i saying this guy is better then that guy.. Bob is concentrating on the busa heads cause thats where his bread and butter is.. Yes i seen Rick at the track the other day only going 164 with Jims new head, where the mph went..who knows !! He called me wanting to switch the heads back for some reason, but i don't have time for that as i already did him a huge favor jumping on it right away like he wanted, and when he posted the results he never even mentioned my name to say thanks.. WTF.. not to mention if Bob put bigger valves in it also.

i say that hard to believe that a 230lb'er went 170mph on 265hp in a 1/4 mile .

150lb rider i'd find easier to believe and the 230lb guy owns the bike

Steve, We thought he may have bent some valves or something because the power was down. We debated switching heads if there was a problem with the valves etc. sense he has to race tomorrow at rockingham and there would be no time for me to replace the valves.
But he found a problem yesterday.... a burnt plug. The electrodes burned off #3.
It may have been on the nitrous pass??

I was told Shawn was on his own zx14 on the 170 mph pass and he is 230#.
I wasn't there I'm going by what I was told.

This is absolutely CRAZY!! This is not a comparison test between 2 of the same engine combo's, and I stated that very clearly in the beginning. I spelled this out to the "T" so this kind of BS doesn't happen and low and behold, Imtoofast(Art Delarso) comes on here and calls Bob Carpenter trying to start a problem between me and him!!!!
Bob used to build motors for my dad, back in the 70's, then my late brother skip, and now me. I'll be Damn if I let you come on here Art and try to turn this into something its not!
My "Apples to Apples" was referring to me Dyno'ing on the same Dyno both times and the numbers being compared.
I will say it again so that IMTOOFAST can comprehend the 2nd time around.........I went from a proven 2x5mm CARPENTER stock valve head with"385" lift street cams to a BIG VALVE head from Competition CNC with BIG RADICAL 443 or 445 lift cams.
This was never a comparison as in competition but the comparison was for thoseZX14 owners who wanted to step up their 2x5 stock valve head combos!

Bob is the King of horsepower with whatever he concentrates on but right now the Busa is his main concentration as the 14's are the minority of his business. He did 1 ZX14 with 425 cams and a 3x5 and it runs very well 8.0's 171 in a grudge bike, so there ya have it!

But for now Jim Gilnack has concentrated his focus on improving the 14 head and is doing an awesome job!

Art......its obvious for some reason you dont like me, so I'm not going to sugar coat it........"Your an A-hole" for starting this controversy when you dont even own a 14!!!

Jim, do you think you would lose alot of lowend and/or lower midrange power going with the ported heads, oversized valves, bigger cams, 47mm thtrotle bodies and a slight compression increase on a stock bore and stroke package..........also ball park how much would such a package run.

One more totally unrelated question how much horsepower do you think you could get out of a Gen 2 VMAX with the same type of package?

Mike, you would want a stage 1 or 2 head with stock size valves for a stock displacement engine depending on what you are going to do with the engine. Give me a call. Thanks

RICKY it has nothing to do with you I was pointin out excatly what your saying it was a case of comparing apples to oranges thats all it is and I do like you RICKY and again it has nothing to do with you I just pointed out what you just said and I agree completely with your explanation so lets not make it to something it isnt lets just go racing and have some fun
