Roy just sent me the dyno run files , I opened them with my win7 softwear ... Roy has the curser set at 9.4 on the chart posted above .. I has able to move the curser with my win7 program .. .. At 9440 it jumps to 214 HP from the 211 at 9400 .. It pulls steady for a few RPMs and drops to 213 and then 212 to just about red line ..

So Roy picked up more than 14 HP at peak ..He picked up 17 HP !!! at peak and held 211 till red line ..

Roy, glad to hear you got it finished with such nice results. Guess that might have made 200 a little easier last month.

I can post up some pictures .... but there is a warning .... if you port your own head , you may not be able to have it CNC ported later...

I would be interesting to see how much other ported heads with stock valves pick up... maybe Shane can tell us ....

The best test would be to bolt my head on to your engine...I'm not 100% sure that I will be leaving the rest of my motor stock.

Is your ported head milled at all? Are you using oversize throttle bodies?

the head is not milled ... I have plenty of compression with the 1530 .

I have been running the homemade 46 mm throttle bodies for a couple of years now...

why don't you just put the head on and seewhat gains you get ? should only take a couple of hours ...

But if you want to send you head down here I can stick it on and rerun the test on the same dyno.

how much is it milled and what are the flow numbers ?

Jim could tell you the flow numbers..all I know is that it is his Stage 2 Port for stock valves.

It has been milled .030. It might only take a couple of hours if it were a straight swap...but it is milled significantly enough that the cams should be degreed, and ptv checked. I also need to install the cams and set valve clearance.

Not to mention that I don't have an exhaust for the bike either, and I am installing oversize TB's, and a new trans...at minimum. I can't see dropping the engine and only doing 1/2 of the work.

We'll see what happens when I get back from Maxton, I have a lot to do in order to get Racheal's bike ready.

I'm not even speculating....I'll make a decision when I get back from Maxton.

My bike picked up 2.5 mph with the head swap. I was alittle unhappy since the calculated increase was 5 mph . The data logger showed that the clutch was starting to slip , but shiphteey ( Ali ) was able to knock out a 207+mph run for a new record :-)

that was the fastest unblown naked pass ever run at maxton ...

do you think it really needs a lock up ? how much HP can the stock setup handle ? I did have 5 heavy clutch springs in there .

It's not so much the HP it's the TQ and your weight .. If you go with a CL lockup you will not even know it's there other than the clutch will stop slipping .. It a great deal for under 300 bucks .. No setup , just bolt it in a go ..

Well Ricky may have stock fibers and steels but that is all that is stock .. Aftermarket basket and gorilla springs comes to mind .. Clutch springs stronger than the coil springs on the front of a 70 Caddy .. Anyone thinking stock zx14 springs will hold 360 HP has rocks for brains ..

Remember Roy bike runs with no body work and pushes more air than a freight train at 200+ MPH ..Add to that Roy is a big guy and his bike makes a ton of TQ .. Sure Roy can toss in a new clutch and springs and it will not slip FOR a short while .. Cheapest fix is a CL lockup .. Done deal , cheap and easy ..

ok , I think I am close to that with the spray.... 211 on the dyno , add 10 hp for ram air, then add the spray ....

The only reason I had questioned it was that the bike is an 06 and had alot ot land speed runs and passes at the dragstrip... I wasnt sure if it was time to go or the added power put it over the edge...

have you tried the brock's true street spacers with springs or the adam's clutch spring setup?

Get the lockup and be done with it. Same easy clutch lever because you can keep the stock springs, but once your rolling the lockup starts to work and you get more clamping force than HD springs can provide.
