I agree Lucky14, the words "showroom stock" mean different things to different people.

In my club that would be Class 1 and you can't change a thing. Mirrors have to be left on too. Strapping, lowering, removing parts, gearing changes and taping the fairing would put it in Class 2 with the pipe-and-power-commander boys.

My guess is they mean the engine is stock. Even so it's an honest top speed they are claiming, the average of two runs in opposite directions. Exactly how a record should be set. I congratulate them and hope it encourages others to have a go.

Wow! I Have yet to hear the stock top speeds for both gen's of zx14's (limiter bypassed)

Busa did 202 with lee on it look on brocks page fastest still and alway will be. and with less hp
Hate to tell you Brocks Busa was fully modded and running MR9 .. The BMW was stock ..Brocks zx14 that broke 200 ( 200.92 ) at Maxton was also fully modded just like his Busa ..

+1

I was there when Lee ran 202-203mph on the Brocks Busa at Maxton. I was right next to them in line with my ZX-12R... that bike is not even remotely close to being stock. The Busa and 14 he brought up were to sell his pipes, just like Rob Muzzy did at Maxton with his 199mph "stock" ZX-12R with nothing more than a Muzzy pipe. (lmfao)

Interestingly, the guy who rode Brock's 14 also has a ZX-14 that's Brock'd out running MR9 and so does his equally sized/skilled brother... only they both have Coby Adams light headwork, compression, degree'd cams... and BOTH bikes/riders went 202mph in calm conditions earlier this year.

Ace did a similar set-up as mentioned above on a ZX-14 and hit 200.2mph on GPS in the mile during street testing. (GPS is usually a couple mph lower than Maxton's lights).

That's 3 different bikes with top level builder/tuner engine work, Brock'd out, and world class pro LSR riders on each of them... all getting roughly the same result that Brock's 14 did with a "stock" engine on a warm day into a crosswind.... at the first and only LSR event that bike has ever been to. Amazing.

Heck, Brock himself went 197mph at his rookie event on that "stock" engine ZX-14 at near 200 lb.'s suited in 80+*F with a crosswind. I believe the fastest unopened ZX-14 to ever run the standing mile was Zach Millholland's brock'd out MR9 sipping 198-199mph bike. He's a PRO 130+lb rider (at the very tippy top of the LSR food chain) and it took him a few events and decent conditions to get that speed. Again..... Amazing!

Is it just me, or does this Kool-Aid smell funny?

Oh well, bottoms up... who wants to buy a pipe? lol

Just curious...would a bike be faster on the Salt Flats or on pavement?? I assume pavement if the length of the course is the same. Right?

PH i said modded but not the inside of the engine .I ment as in pipes, tune , wheel bearings ect , NOT engine work...I have no reason to believe that Brocks Busa or his zx14 had the motor opened .. You have made that statement before to me that Brocks zx14 motors were not stock.. If you have proof please post it .. My bet is you are guessing and have no proof of any kind ..I know Brock to be a very truthfull guy and he hates cheaters..

Look at the numbers.. Look at the conditions... Look at the motive....Look at what the best of the best have done with the same mods on their best days.

If that doesnt raise your eyebrow, you've got a lot to learn about LSR.

I know Brock walks on water with you guys, same way Muzzy did wih the 12R crowd back in the day for years after the mythical 199mph Muzzy 12 run at Maxton. Nobody wanted to stop drinking the kool-aid back then either...it just tasted sooooo damn good on the lips when we'd brag about it online or at bikenight. We all wanted to believe it.. I mean, It's MUZZYS... They wouldn't lie to us to corner the market on 12R pipe, never! Hahaha. But now 10 years later we all look back and review the record books and see what it really takes to get a ZX12R to break 200mph. Rob Muzzy laughed his way to the bank the entire time. Smart business man..

The great part about being the first to do something is that nobody has anything else to compare it to at that moment... So its accepted. When everyone else tries to duplicate it and even the best of the best fall short... Then people start putting down their cups and sober up.

But whatever....I'll join the festivites, pour me a glass. Bottoms up gentlemen! :twothumbs

As you say look at the numbers ..Brocks zx14 same one run at Maxton, pro rider , same mods , same fuel, same mapping ( Maxton map ) in killer air ( DA below sea level ) 9.00 .. My bike bad air , pump gas , no pro rider 9.11 .. Try as Brock might he got 9.00 and NO 8 second pass .. If Brocks bike had any mods to the engine like a SS package , port work , milled head it would have run high 8.80s to low 8.90 with ease ..An SS bike with what little can be done to the motor will run and has run 8.80s ..While the very best he could do was 9.00 and keep in mind that was on MR9 and you can NOT run mr9 in SS class .. SS bike have to run xxx118 fuel and i can tell you from trying it myself the shit is not as good at making power as 87 pump gas .. Brocks dyno showed right before that 200.92 run and his 9.00 run the bike making under 200 hp ..While a super sport zx14 will and has made 205 to 207 hp ... If you added MR12 to that super high compression SS bike it would have made 213 to 214 hp .. Had Brocks bike been making 213 to 214 it would have run faster than 200.92 with a pro light weight LSR rider and you can take that to the bank ..
And PH13 let us not forget , Brock is a pro rider and has been a pro rider for many years .. Brock has set many records and won many races .. Brock likes to down play his riding skills but make no mistake he is a super skilled rider unlike you PH13 who has done nothing and mostlikely never will .. Now set back and have some Wine and soak all that in ..

Jesse never ran SS class , he ran ET street .. Keep up sonny boy .. That was a only a test head for Jesse ... We got a real SS head from Jim at CNC and trust me that head had way more work done it than Jesses head did ..Jesse first head would have passed Tech with flying colors .. Keep in mind Boozo we told everybody about jesses head , i even posted pictures .. We hid it from no one not even AMA ..And i will get the last word because you have nothing worth adding ...

As long as “fully modded” means our pipe and PC with completely stock -NEVER been touched engine-, on my 06 ZX-14 and my 08 Busa PRECISELY as I wrote here: Brock’s Front Page Archives

I have them both sitting in my warehouse, EXACTLY the same as they were at Maxton, and for enough $ we can pull them apart together if you like. The poor Busa just went through a failed stock engine turbo project, so it could probably use a little TLC after another 400 dyno pulls at between 210 and 270 RWHP.

I don’t have anything mythical… I can tune a bike, and I make sure I put the VERY best riders on them. I am an average rider myself (perhaps slightly above on a good day with my head on straight?) and I refuse to give myself any more credit than that. Perhaps my views are clouded because I hang out with some of the most skilled riders/racers in the world?

But don’t get confused… I do know how to ride a motorcycle, judge for yourself if you like: Brock on BMW S 1000 RR-Video

I wish we could make Maxton this weekend, but I have a scheduling conflict. My guess is that with 203 HP at the rear wheel and at 100 lbs. lighter than my Busa or 14… the BMW would do ok?
But we will have to wait until October to find out (hopefully).

Brock
Brock’s Performance

P.S. YES… I believe 196 MPH all day long, riden to the salt flats with the mirrors on, pump gas, stock/Stock/STOCK. And the reason is simple… Dave-O’s son, Josh Owen, and Todd Drost, of Twin Jugs Racing volunteered to help the poor guy TEAR DOWN for Bonneville inspectors to receive his BNI record, and then they put him back together so that he had some way to GET HOME!

Do your homework next time before you question the integrity of so many people in public.

Brock,
I know this is off topic but I sold my 14 (had a Brock's pipe on it) now have a 2009 zx6r. I looked on your site and I see you don't have any pipes available for my bike. Any chance you're gonna do anything with the 600's in the near future? I'd like to have a Brock's pipe for a 600 I could buy. Seems like a big market.
Thanks

I believe that the teardown at Bonneville, in production class, is for checking displacement only. Just as at Maxton, you can have any internal engine mods you want...within the displacement class. The bike must appear 100% stock externally, however.

This is not to say the bike was not stock....just that the teardown only verfies that it was 1000cc or less, to the best of my knowledge. Any Bonneville racer care to verify that?

Outside of that, I would love to see Brock run his bike at Maxton. If the bike, bone stock, can go 196 mph in 6000' DA, imagine how it will run at the near (or even below) sea level conditions of Maxton in October!

Lee, I don't believe this "record" for a number of reasons but will get you the right answer tomorrow. The P-P class is pretty much a joke in LSR because all the bike has to look is "stock" from the outside but inside you can have $15,000 into your motor. I still have the AMA record for the 1650 class at 189 mph. Then Leslie Porterfield beat it by 3 mph (192 mph) on a Honda 1000cc a year later which I know was a true stock production bike because I was there. To show you how the P-P class is not really a class at all, Deluca, a SCTA member went 203 mph on his 1350 cc Busa and set the AMA record for that class. I know for a fact that the motor was totally modified. The stock Busas usually only do around 175-182 mph.

BUB and AMA always run in both directions where most of the SCTA events do not. Therefore the wind plays a big factor. Whether the World of Speed went both ways I don't know but I don't believe so. To get an FIM record you have to go down and back within two hours, four hours for an AMA record. According to the San Diego BMW site they did one run one day and then a second run the next day. They tells me they only went one way. I been out in Bonneville with 40 mph winds. We didn't run of course but winds are a big factor.

The fact that my friends, who I trust completely, went 188 mph on their BMW and the fact the San Diego's BMW went 9 miles an hour faster is very suspect. Nine miles an hour faster usually mean 15 +- horsepower more in the engine.... or wind. A true record is down and back within a short amount of time.

I'm calling my friends at SJ BMW and they will fill in the blanks. They never race with SCTA because of their one way runs. The World of Speed was an SCTA event. I'll let you know.

The bike was a bone-stock dealer demo bike, according to the guys at SDBMW. I called them and confirmed it. The rider picked the bike up on Wednesday before the event and had no time to prep it.

As for the BMW.... 191HP "Demo" bike.....(according to their website)

Hmmmmm....interesting. I wonder what the showroom bikes put out.....

Tim's S1000 put out more HP than that on pump gas. Valve cover has never been off of it. His isn't a "demo" either. He just went in and bought it. Right off the showroom floor.

Obviously not all dyno's are the same. However, I don't think this demo bike is a ringer.

I looked this one over pretty good in impound when they had it all ripped apart to measure the displacement. They are nice bikes.

Like Ryan says, our stock bike, on pump gas, on Dynojet's dyno in North Las Vegas produced just under 193 hp. With a PCV, it exceeded 197 hp. And ours was no special, hand-picked bike. We were on a waiting list and someone ahead of us canceled, so we got his bike.

What was changed on, and/or subtracted from the bike while at the track?

Any alterations or adjustments at all, outside of those that were safety-mandated by the rules of the organization?

What type of fuel was used?

I just heard Chad Millholland rode a KWS prepped BMW 1000RR in Production class at Maxton and went 202.xxx. Then moved over to MPS class with a full exhaust and ended up at over 203.xxx. Pretty sweet for a 1000cc bike

I believe he went 205+ on that bike, taking an MPS record in the process. Impressive indeed, even though the motor did have some work...not sure what they did, though. Secret racing stuff.

Brock's stock motor bikes, with his external mods, went around 200. Also very impressive.

That can't be right...we all know the bike mags get "ringers", or hand picked specially prepped bikes that put out more hp than most, and 188mph and 176.4 hp is nowhere near 197 hp or 197 mph stock like claimed in this thread? I've also seen multiple shops dyno stock bmw 1000's at around 168 rwhp.
