Stock vs Concourse seat

Could anyone comment on a comparison between the stock seat and the Concourse swap over from a PASSENGER's point of view? I find the stock seat fine but as I take my better half with me on 90%+ of my rides I want/need to consider her comfort on the ride as well. Stock seat for her is good for about 100miles after that she is butt sore. Anyone out there who could offer opinions from their passenger after the swap?

Next option to consider is a Corbin and lady seat with a backrest but they are PRI$$EY to say the least. If I have to go that route I will but maybe a Concourse seat swap will work just fine.

ANY/all comments will be Much Appreciated.

Thank you for the help.

lol....go Tobin if ya like UGLY. His customer service is sketchy as well...do a google search and read up before dropping your coin with him.

I'd give the concours seat a try....fairly cheap and easy to source. I can't do a corbin as it sets me too far back away from the bars, but a Sargent seat fits me just fine. Only butt that matters is your other half and yours. Seats are very subjective.

Quarter Pounder,

My experience with Tobin was very pleasant. I found him to be personable and he was thorough and professional. Called me when he received the order followed up with me before modifying the seat and called me once the seat was shipped. I'm extremely pleased with my purchase and would do business with him in the future. I'm sorry if you had a bad experience but I would recommend him as an alternative.

Thanks,

We tried the connie seat a couple of weeks back and here's what we decided. Not much more confortable than the stocker, just a different shape. The best thing Nea liked about the connie seat was the bit of extra leg room because of the rear pillon's taller height. When it was all said and and done we were glad we were ab le to borrow a seat and didn't soend the 100$ to 150$ to find this out. Our next move is going to be sending the stocker to Spencer at www.greatdaytoride.com and see what he can do to make the seat confortble. 75$ bucks to mod rider and passanger pillion seems very fair. The e-mails we have exchanged with him inspire us to want to spend money with him and the reveiws we have seen are all favorable on his work. Hope this helps answer your questions.

A spencerized seat is a great option, as long as he builds it to your liking. He does great work and know a couple buddies with Spencerized seats and they love them.

But I reiterate...make sure you tell him what you are looking for in the performance/fitting of the seat. It'll only be as good as your input to him.

Heard good and bad (similar to corbin). But it comes down to looks...it's just a bit not nice to look at...kinda like a wart...it's there and you have to look at it. He's not the only one to build seats that look like that....none are decent looking IMO.

But all that matters is that you're happy with it.

I sold my Corbin and currently run a Concours 14 seat. The Concours seat is great because it gives me added leg room over the Corbin seat and stocker. Ordered a Sargent driver only and Im going to try that next. Sargent customer service was great to talk to and they said that I could testdrive the seat and return it if I didn't like it

Been considering having my stocker modded as it's mucho cheaper than the majority of custom seat companies..........I'm with 68gts, I'd rather spend way less on modding my seat and chance not liking it than blow $500 neighborhood on a custom ( guarantee or not ).........I could buy a used 2nd stocker and ship both out to be modded twice......each......for the price of a Sargent, Tobin, or Corbin

can't go wrong with that line of thinking...but if you know how good a Sargent seat is (I've done over 60k on my ZRX seat), the price is well worth it. Experience is priceless.

Best option is to find someone willing to borrow you a seat so you can ride on it for a week or two.

I wish I knew someone with a 14 that had a custom seat, but I'm not that lucky.........so, wanna pull yours and ship it to me for a few weeks? Just kiddin' man, I'm sure they're definitely worth the money otherwise how would these companies stay in business right? Just can't spare it for my baby.........unless my wife gets me one for a bday gift -- that would be nice, but unlikely.........I plan on gettin a Connie in a couple years when the 14's paid off -- hopefully I'll find a good used one thats already got the good stuff fitted.

The Corbin I had on my FJ1200 was too firm at first. It took several thousand miles before it got where I could ride a full tank of gas with out stopping. Butt burn. The Connie 14 seat is better than stock but it too will give you a butt burn after full tank of gas on the hiway. I think ALL of them are ugly compaired to the stock seat with the rear cowl on. Function over looks on the hiway. My Daughter asked why I had a Gold Wing saddle on my Sport Bike.I just laughed.

Sgt seat is no problem as its not dished out like the tractor seat corbin makes. One more reason the Sgt works better for me.

I only have pics of my ZRX seat, but Sgt website has pics of their 14 seat and it looks just like the ZRX version. My 14 seat is coming....
