RC performace head review and performance

Got the RC performance head back and put it on. there were some things that I was not thrilled with. First the price I was told on the phone after we talked, the owner did not agree with after he was done. It seems I was talking with his son. It was originally suppose to be $1250 but I was able to get a price of $950 for all I wanted done. When he called and said the head was ready it was $1310 shipped to me. They charged me a $35 dollar Credit Card fee, said that there was a couple of bent valves. (I had pulled every valve out of the head and checked them so they would all be good for the comp. valve job, the motor ran like a champ). maybe they were maybe they were not. I asked for the bent valves back and they were in the box but bent bad enough that you could see it just by twisting the stems in your hand. can you say drive the price up? The good, The porting really looked good, they port matched the intake boots, They cared enough to machine there name in the side of the head. Once the head was on and the bike cranked up I took it down the street and it will need to be back on the Dyno. It was so lean on the all motor map that it was breaking up. I switched the Bazzaz to the nitrous map which is a lot richer and tried it out with no spray. It will fly. You can hear it revs a lot faster. Monday I will get it re-mapped and then take it to the track to see how it does. It was making 197HP at the wheel before maybe now it might break the 200 mark on motor. I still need someone that is light and can ride good to really put down a number

Well man, don't sweat it too much. $1310 with shipping is real close to the $1250 you thought it would be up front. Sucks that you didn't get the quoted price, but water under the bridge at this point...right?

Let's see how it runs!!

not much. drop in High comp. pistons, thin head gasket. two intake cams, The bigest thing is with the Bazzaz you can control the secondary injectors. really enables you to get the power out of the 1000. 1000's make good H.P. they just don't have as much torque as the big 14. but it's only 338 lbs. They also don't hold up as well. But they are easy to work on and parts are a dime a dozen. As far as the price on the head.... We will see what the dyno says.

06 05-08 are pretty much the same except the 07-08 have a better stock head. and the 05 06 has a cable clutch. you can use it on the 07-08 too.
