Stainless Brake Lines?????
I'm getting ready to swap my stock brake lines. New Crush washers? Dealer wants $2.45 each for them! $60 bucks for all of them. Anyone swapped theirs out and used the existing ones? Any problems? Leaks?

I try and use new ones but have re-used old ones with good luck, maybe I'm just fortunate.
Just don't get too crazy and over tighten them.

Do a Google search for Brembo crush washers. Measure yours. Most are 10mm. A common size. They are $.50 a piece online.

I never realized there were 25 washers in the system?? Always replace if possible, no reason to risk a leak. Brake fluid eats up the finish of anything, and the brakes are a life safety system.
That being said, I have gotten away with used ones a few times.

Not worth your brakes or your paint. Replace them. Optional cost, $15000.00 for a wrecked bike.

I've never understood this mentality...... Just because you spend more doesn't mean you're getting more. Since when is there a lifespan for a washer????

As far as all of the brands of lines i sell they all come with new crush washers.
The MOST IMPORTANT aspect of reusing old oem crush washers is to heat them with a propane torch till they are a dull red, then let them cool. The washers are copper and this process will aneal the copper, making them soft and crushable again, just like reusing a copper head gasket. Due to the torque used on the fittings the washers are usually good for only 2 or 3 anealing/re-uses as they will eventully deform and become too thin.
HOPE THIS HELPS
