I saw that over on PB.com in the ZX14 forum....... Hopefully it will generate some conversation.
If someone would elaborate on what the ECU edit does and how we can benefit from this I would appreciate it... Also as far as tuning how easy for the average rider to do?

Some of the features include:
Ability to view all sensors data with a laptop connected
Ability to clear fault codes
Ability to change fueling maps (both IAP and TPS maps) for better, more precise tuning than piggyback systems.
Ability to change ignition maps (you can add timing in the lower gears like a TRE does without messing up your gear based fuel curves)
Increase your factory rev limiter (current software supports up to 12,500 RPM)
Remove the 6th gear speed restriction with the click of a button
Ability to dis-able soft cut limiters which can burn up your NOS or Turbo bike, hard-cut shuts all injectors down vs just a couple.
Turn your ECU into an ignition / fuel kill box for use with an air/co2 shifter. Gen 2 Busas's can utilize gear based engine kill times (different kill time for each gear)
Switch-able map selection for NOS, different turbo boost levels, fuel types etc
Import maps from other fuel tuning devices (testing phase right now)
Replace stock map sensor with GM 3 bar for boost referenced fueling for turbo bikes
Disable O2 sensor, pair valve, IAT sensor for dyno tuning purposes.
Ability to tune secondary throttle blade opening (don't remove those secondary flies you will loose hp)
NOW AVAILABLE: ECU controlled progressive gear based Nitrous/Fuel/Ignition Ramp Rate Control. www.boostbysmith.com/ecunos2.html for details.
This works on Bking as well though at the moment doesn't have as many features (B-king you can re-destrict, map fueling, increase rev limiter, use ecu as kill box, dis-able exup, canister, O2 sensor, pair valve)
BASICALLY Nelson you can take all the aftermarket gadgets off and tune everything thru the ECU .. reason 1 why i purchased a busa

Nelson, look me up at 2wheelspeed next weekend and i can tell you anything you want to know about the ecu tuning. Mine and dennis are tuned thru the ecu. My air shifter runs thru it as well as I have a nos set up working thru it on a progressive controller right thru the ecu.

It is nice, no airshifter kill box, no pwr comander, no progressive nos box, I can advance timing the list goes on and on. My other buddie is just getting ready to fire his turbo bike up and the boost controller wil go thru the ecu.

Bently, I will come check it out.... I have been hearing things about this but no one in my area is hip to it.... Joey F. from 2wheelspeed talked to me about it for a brief minute. I asked him how in the hell did he blow bye me in 3rd gear in the 9.50 class. He said 3rd gear activated nos tuned thru the ECU.... That got me asking questions..

they been doin that with busas for almost 2 years now, and still just gum flapping about the zx14 ECU.

He did not break out.... He has it setup to spray only in 3rd gear for a set RPM range then it shuts off . Its setup real nice, he extended the rev limiter. He leaves out the gate real lazy also which probably helps keep him from breaking out.
dubious your right about the gum flapping on the ZX14 ecu..... I wish they would make it happen.

oh i had way more than 3 if we counting total .. no you never out ran my bike.. my zx14 has a 1/4 mile trap speed of 171mph with with a 2,2 60ft and a jockey a little bigger than you ...so your junk has not been faster maybe quicker .. but the jockey only made 2 passes ..lol . so i have no clue what it would run if it had a teasley riding it.. but i don't loan my junk to just anybody ..
