I'm with Steve on this one.

The fact is the BMW is the biggest liter bike news in the last ten years. The fact that they haven't won at a "REAL" track yet...give me a break, are you serious. Give them one more year and a top notch rider and we'll see. Troy Corser is a good rider, old, but not the best they can put on the bike. He's developing the bike. I bet you see BMW go for a top notch rider or talent next year...don't doubt Tardozzi.

Their bike has so much more horsepower out of the box, they are busy trying to figure out how to best get that power to the ground and the track. I know Aprilia has done better out of the box, but they have WAY more two wheel racing experience, frame development, etc. from years of racing at all levels.

Will I ever own the BMW? Probably not for lots of reasons, but it's still a damn impressive machine with the power and technology of a $20K-$30K machine. You don't have to love it, the brand, but you should respect what they've done.

R we really still comparing the BMW(1000) to the zx14, maybe n a 1/4 race the 14 is faster, for now, wait til the performance upgrades puts the power to the ground, look how it took companies to get upgrades to u guys for ur 14's to perform with the vast upgrades available for the busa, there's already plenty of 1000's whipping ass on the bigger bikes, Now we got a another 1000 on steroids, lol, y'all going to have problems with this bike, n oh yeah, I luv my 12, lol, but I know its not running with certain bikes, but damn if I don't look good running 10.00's, they gonna have to catch me, lol

Are we going at this one again?

This S1000RR is really fast on my local tracks!
BTW the suspension, brake system and wheels alone on it are worth more than the
otd sticker on a 2010 zx10r.

Steve,
Why don't you change the name of this forum to "S1000 vs ZX14" ?
Seems like this is all you talk about.

I have never compared the new BMW litre leaner bike to the ZX14. I said competition is good for us all in the Zx10 thread

Although Brock and them did compare the new beemer, he said "lighter than a gixxer 1K and more power than a ZX14"

I'm not abouyt that, but the road racing technology on the new beemer I am.

didn't realize some are closeminded to competitors and so sensitive to such matters.

No, it's not that at all. Just find it humourous to see that so many people think that bmw has rewritten the books, is all.
All they've done is take advantager of the latest technology, developed by the japs, copied the best traits of the bunch and made a really good bike. Nothing wrong with that.
I can't wait to find one on the road and see just what they're made of.

The following are just a few excerpts to help set the record straight, regarding HP. Some will scoff, as it will bring their inflated numbers down to reality. Not meant to do that, just lay it out as it really is. Any bike that puts anywhere close to 150 hp to the road is an awsome machine.

Steve knows what he's doing! He is just trying to stir shit up. Of course there is no comparing the 14 to the new Beemer. They are two completly different bikes designed to do two different things. I find it comedic that Steve jumps in here at least twice a week to plug the BMW but doesn't own one.

Blah Blah...1 thing I can't stand is magazine racers!! F@@k that, until 1 beats me...it's just another liter bike that's lighter and faster...2 encounters and 2 down so far. I read where some guys said the beemer pulled other bikes after 2 gear...well not mine and I weigh 226. It matters not what the bike can do, wtf can you do on the bike.....
