Is it possible to run in the 8s at 240pd no nitrous
Now i am going to lose weight but i want to know if my expectations are to high at the current weight. My 14 is 8 over with brock alien 16/47 gearing and shock revalved. My motor has a ported/polished head that is milled a bit. With heavy duty valve springs and degreeed cams at 104/106. Thin head gasket, velocity stacks, bmc race filter. I also have heavy duty springs with the spacers in the clutch. Dont know what kind of power its making but i did run 6.21 after a yr of not riding it. Thats with a 1.5 60ft. Im still getting things dialed in on it. I know i have to do alot better than 1.5 and my mph was only 114. What i dont understand is i was doing the same times with the same 60ft last yr with the stock motor and 16/44 gearing. Mph was the same. Im trying to see what gearing will work the best. It only took me 3 tries to run that 6.2. So im sure after some more seat time it should be better. I want to run in the 8s without nitrous. Thats the goal. Is it possible. At this weight.

i do have that 1pd light battery and some lighter zx636 wheels soon. I know that will help a bit. But for now lets say the stock weight plus me.

Man, you got a tough row to hoe. Your 1/8th miles will have to be low,low 5.80's to make a 8 second pass on motor. This time of the year is a no-go anyway. Get your practice in and good luck come fall.

I think even with a stroked motor it would be close. Weight is key.

i went 5.90 @ 119 2nd pass ever and weighed in a 245 naked that night-- so if it takes a low 5.80 i think it is possible -- im stock bore and stroke with OSR headwork! hope to get it tuned and run next weekend -- it will be a while before I get 1/4 mile though

Ok guys. My second time at the track. I put the zx10 wheels on it and mr12 with the air filter out. I finally learned how to take off on it. I have been doing 1.5 60ft but went down to 1.46 was my best. Ran a 5.97 at 118. I couldnt dump the clutch because it would grip then spin. Once i started dragging it a bit it worked better. The wheels and that mr12 kick ass. I also went down to a 46 in the rear. Now if i can master the launch and loose 25 pounds. I know ill can get in the low 5.80s. This motor is making power for sure.

it's not the seat itself, it's the clips in the front that would catch a nut hangin too low!

My problem is that since I have to tuck my nuts behind me to keep from getting caught on the clips I tend to slide back and smash them... it sucks pretty bad lol.

You ever have the seat come off? I have, the clinch factor was pretty high at that moment. The bolts pulled right thru the fiberglass, washer and all. Ever since, i put alumiumn tabs above the screws and tapped the screws out for 1/4-20 bolts.
