CRT SUSPENSION SET-UP
CRT has been performing suspension services for years now, and we recommend this to everyone. Every now and then when one of us gets a new skoot or does mods to an existing skoot we have the oppurtunity to take advantage of our own services.
Last Thursday we finally had time to analize the suspension on my ZX14. As i was aquiring miles on the skoot i was noticing shortcomings in the suspension action, and those shortcomings were detracting from my enjoyment of the skoot. These ranged from less than optimum handling to a compromised ride.
So i was eager to get this done on my skoot!! Initial baseline measurments showed some of what i had feeling, sag was not right. We also noticed a problem that some forks have, excessive stiction. We performed a couple of mods that took 99% of the excessive stiction out which allowed precise analisis of the sag.
Once the sag was set we moved on to analizing the dampening. This is where we were able to observe how far off the factory settings were to what i needed.
Thursday night i headed out to Fudds. What a transformation! First noticed was a much more solid feel along with a higher level of responseveness to my steering inputs. I now could feel how the tires were interacting with the road.
As the ride progressed i was also noticing where there were still improvements to be made. Friday we made some small changes to our initial settings. I got out Sunday on a nice long ride and was simply amazed at the improvements over the factory settings, but very happy at the results from those small Friday changes. This re-affirms the inculsion of our life-time re-adjustment policy included with every suspension set-up we perform.
It is simply amazing how much improvements can be had by spending the time to work with the stock suspension. I hear the comments/compliments all the time from our customers so when the same improvements are had on our own skoots, makes me glad we have the ability to fine tune the skoot to our individual needs.
I am not only the president, but a happy customer!!

Total weight of bike and rider plays a big role in suspension settings. I have slip-ons that dropped 16 pnds off the skoot. If you have mods that either add or subtract weight from my total combined weight then my settings won't be of much help.
When i did the BST wheels on my first 14 i had to change dampening settings drasticaly as the lighter wheels had that much affect on the suspension action.
