Anyone haul the 14 in a pickup

I need to haul my bike to another state. I have a small GMC Sonoma and length wise it will fit with the tailgate down. I have a Canyon Dancer and plenty of tiedowns. Problem: I have no wheel chock and can only secure it to the factory tiedown loops in the corners of the bed. Should I attempt to haul it this way or is it too risky?

Take off the front fender, then you can plant the front wheel into the corner of the box. Or you can just put it in the middle, but I would be afraid of it buckling. Harbor freight has wheel chocks for cheap.

I always haul my bike on a tacoma short bed and the rear tire always seat right on the edge of the tailgate! at first i used to get scared all the time but then i got used to it! I only use 3 strap 2 in the front each side and one in the across the rear wheel!

I have a tacoma that I hall my 14 in all the time. For the front cut two 2x4s from one side of the bed to the other then two 4x4s between the wheels up and down then screw them to the 4x4s from the back side and that will allow a place for the front wheel and will hold it in place firmly.

I hauled my ZX11 many times on the back of my S-10 pickup. same as you. never had any problems. i did put a piece of board in front of the wheel so as not to buckle the bed toward the cab of truck. just put it in gear and tied it down. tail gate down.

Ive hauled mine in a similar truck (GMC Canyon) With a home made front wheel chock, and soft bar strap with regular starps on rear , and the tail gate in the 45 degree postion. Ive drove all over the countrty like this, even over the rockies on a 2 lane twisty highway with no problems.

My 14 is at stock WB and I have a shortbed Tacoma........haven't tried to squeeze her in yet, but my dirtride fits fine with the gate down -- rear tire hits just past the edge of the bed, if it had a flat tire I could probably get the gate shut -

4 bolts and the 14 fender is off. Easy to do, and prevents scratches.
