Half Face helmet = not good. Crazy fall

Weird crash.
Crusiers going down a motorway, one guy locks up the rear for some unknown reason.
Maybe wanted to smoke a bit for the camera, i dunno.

But really. Why half face helmets are still legal is beyond me.

PS: I have a photo somewhere of a guy with half his face hanging off (no jaw), from a crash with a half face helmet. I'll try and find it. He lived BTW.

The bare arms with no gloves and cotton jeans isn't too clever either.

Freedom of choice or stupidity? I would like to ask those guys if their views on suitable riding gear have changed at all, after hitting the road.

Sure, put that left foot down at highway speeds. Good technique.

I saw the same pic years ago.........his jaw was torn out by the bars / top clamp!! It was a hideous photo with his tongue laying down on his neck. Can't believe he lived with how bad he looked.

I'm still trying to figure out how they wrecked. It looks like the first guy just grabbed a handfull of front brake, and the second panicked. Hmmm...lets see..40k in bikes...prob 150-200k in hospital bills and time lost at work. Yea, i would say that full face helmet and leathers dont look so expensive now.

And yet there is a seat belt law?? Sure, make wearing seat belts a law but its ok to cruise around with half shell brain buckets. I never cared for any laws that make you wear seatbelts or helmets, or whatever, you should already know whats good for you. If you don't, it was well deserved if you don't have commons sense. Im all for freedom of choice, the government shouldn't have to tell you what you have to wear. If someone wants to cruise around in shorts and a tank top, let em, doesn't bother me one bit.

Cant figure that why he would put his foot down . Maybe the guy might of had a tire blow or was rear ended by the other bike lame move though.

He probably thought the camera was a radar gun so he slammed on his brakes.

I was just looking at the vid again. I can't work out why the first rider went down but just as puzzling is the second guy. He bailed out as soon as the first rider went down, no evasive action or braking - just baled out. Very strange.

Agree...I hope it's because they locked up the front and not that they just bailed out.
