anybody here running a Jeffo map?

I was lurking in another forums archives and ran across a 12 page article on Jeff's maps. There was no bad feedback from the guys thad were running them so I decided to call and pick this guys brain a little bit.after a lengthy conversation I decided to try one. I will be installing it later this week after I finish cleaning my fuel system after reading Smokin's post a few days back, and Jeff also recomended doing so. Any input from you guys that have tried this map would be appreciated.

Good luck with that!
He takes your setup on the phone and does a custom map and sends it to you?
If you do a search on that site, you will find that his maps were so far off that engines quit running due to fouled plugs.
Some people were happy, just like the ones that love Ivan's TRE.
If you get a map that actually works, see how close it is to Brock's map. I'm not saying that he would sell Brock's maps for $25, I'm just saying ................. well, I'll just wait for your results.

I'm running his map. Quite happy with it. We had about a dozen people on my forum try it. All were happy except two. We've had quite a debate about it. It doesn't seem possible that he can do what he does, but he often seems to nail it. -bg

The funny thing about this is anyone can take a map and make a couple small adjustments and send it to someone and 9 times out of ten they are going to thank it's great. there's not as much magic as some think. just for example we have 3 bikes all the same year all with different exhaust, we put the same map in all 3 and data logged them and was shooting for 13.1 to 13.2 two bikes where spot on and on needed about 1 to 2 % fuel removed but the one that needed the fuel removed ran awsome on the road and no
one would have known anything.

My favorite quote from those threads:

On a hunch, I called jeffo this morning and told him I had a Nautilus Class nuclear submarine parked in my driveway and needed a custom map. He said no problem, send $50 to Paypal and he get right on it!

BTW... he said he needed to know what altitude I would be operating the sub at!

Not sure I'd trust a guy named Jeffo. Maybe I'll change my name to Sparky and start selling maps.

Welcome bgordon.what other forum are you referring to may I ask? Its ok Fish won't ban you here for saying. Lucky its not a copy because he is utilizing the fuel pump feature that is on pc111 and pcv. It is totally different than any of my other maps.

Sparky that's funny Shane. What's even more funny is you posted on that thread too.I didn't look to see how old the thread was, but it was before you went to the dyno.

I am a happy Jeffo customer. His instructions were easily to follow, I reset the TPS and accelerator pump with my PCV.

The bike rides smooth, on & off throttle response is excellent, no deceleration pop, and overall very impressed.

Took my bike to our local tuner for a sniffer test run, and the A/F ratio was pretty close.

With Muzzy duals & PCV my 2008 may 177rwhp on a SuperFlo dyno.

Tuner said he could maybe squeeze another 5hp or so, but it would cost me $300 for a custom map.

real close. Runs strong. AH broks has nice tone. Glad I live near you as you only

charged me $29.99 :-) Going to try a Zephyr 16 front witht the 43 rear next time.

I'm actually going to lose some weight. I was at 178 when we rode I'm at 175 now and plan on getting down to 172. Better for running and it seems to help on the roll ons;^)

My 08 was pretty close to perfect before I installed the "Jeffo Map". 50 dollars later I did notice it running cooler and better fuel milage as well as a bit smoother at lower rpms.

For just the peace of mind, I would do it again! C,mon...its just 50 bucks!!

Here's my recent experience with a Jeffo Map.

Went onto the website to fill out the order form with all my mods, paid my $50 via Paypal, and had a great conversation with him over the phone. He emailed me the map soon after so I installed it and all the little goodies then took it to the local dyno guy to test it.

JDGun put down 1.31hp less than the map I already had downloaded.

Not gonna lie, I was hoping for more than that. Not a big problem though. This is to be expected with an over-the-phone faux-custom map. I knew it wasn't going to be perfect but for $50 vs $250 for a full tune, I'll give it a shot. Could be a cheap upgrade right? Anyway, Jeffo bragged about his customer service so I emailed him the results and asked politely if there's any adjustments he can make.

He calls me back first saying the 1.31hp loss is not a big deal. No worries so far. It is what it is right? He then spends the next 5 mins yelling at me for taking my bike in to be tested and letting another tuner see his work. I apologized and he kept going, saying I only have a right to use it, not to share it, etc. etc. Again, I try to settle him with an apology and let him know that everyone I know online that has gotten a map from him has done the same thing: taken the bike in and tested it back to back with another map. Unfortunately, I got as far as "tested" before he cut me off to yell at me again.

At that point, I hung up. I paid him $50 for a map that puts down less power than the map I got for free... and he wants to chew me out for checking his work. Defensive much? No chance of a refund or an adjustment I guess. Which brings me to one conclusion...

Jeffo Maps Are a Complete Waste of Time and Money!

You bought it you can hand it out to as many guys as you want. I'm pretty sure he does not have copy rights to his maps. I know guys like this and Brock to don't like there maps being passed around but it happens every day. Hell I'm running a ryan schnitz ecu flash in my Busa right now and it's working like a champ! and yes someone gave it to me. my other buddy is running it as well with his Brock pipe and has been 8.80

Yelling at people seems to be a way of life for him.

Unfortunately, he deleted his rant and name-calling on the other forum before I could save it. Same deal - a couple of people posted the results of the mail-order tune and they were not happy. Here he comes with a rant and name-calling in such a manner that I knew I would NEVER buy anything from him. Talk about customer DIS-service!

Think about Brock's customer service.

Now think of the opposite = JeffO =

that is the site that has HUB answering techincal questions ...

Got a technical question? Ask the man who knows

If that is what they believe, I would not trust anything on that site.
