anyone make there own clutch spacers?

I put my stock springs back in my clutch from using the hd ones on my cl lock up and didnt like the feel plus lost on average close to a tenth on my 60 so Im gonna put the hd springs back in and was thinking of adding the brocks spacers as well but was thinking of testing just adding a washer first to see if I would gain any from the spacers, any input?

kawasakijockey makes his own. you may also want to look into a MTC shim kit. they have spacers of different thickness

I couldn't quite find the right size washers. I ordered some from McMaster Carr, but the OD was a little small for my taste.

I like the sounds of the MTC shim kit. My favorite "feel" was with 3 spacers...but I didn't like the idea of the uneven loading on the pressure plate.

The best fitting spacer materials I have found so far are 7/8 alumi. bicycle seatposts or handlebars. They will only fit on the outer side of the pressure plate. Now, 1/2 alum. rigid conduit works great if you want to put the spacers under the springs.

How much do spacers cost? Is it worth possibly having uneven pressure on your plates? I know standard washers in a hardware store are nowhere near the same thickness. Some are super thin and some are thick, and everywhere between.

It is a very insignificant difference as far as washers goes.

Have you had a spring dig into the spacer?

That is strange. All the ones I see are hardened aluminum.

The ones I had were aluminum.... I think... they were extremely light!

smokin how thick are your brocks spacers? I had my dad machine me some that are 3mm thick, brocks website says .280 which in 1000ths is little over 1/4 of an inch, which I cant imagine putting in my clutch but if they were 2.80 mm that would make sense, bout the size of an average washer
