271 H.P. on stock rods (pics)

On a 06 GSXR1000 with a Velocity turbo system. I told him to quit turning it up. The rods in the 1000cc bikes can only handle so much. But he "WAS" flying, it lasted 5 months at that H.P. It's the first time I actually saw a motor throw the rod and wrist pin out of the motor and was laying in the faring bottom. The piston is wedged in the cylinder.

Block

piston wedged in cylinder

The piston hit the head so hard it warped it, drove the valves up through the buckets so hard it slipped the cam sproket on the cam about 5/16". I am building him one of my spare motors. He thought it was on fire and ran off the road crashing in the grass. just scratched the plastic up some. no one hurt but his wallet.

It's like this. 5 lbs. is great, you get used to it so you bump it up some more, feels fast again, well you get the picture.

They all blow up. If you push them to the limit something always gives out.

Most boost or spray engines End with a bad noise............. your wallet turned upside down with 100 dollar bills falling out...... then set them on fire.

If you have never had the pleasure of riding a bike on some serious boost then you have really missed out. But be warned..... don't do it, it's hard to go back to normally aspirated after you have tasted the drug.

Yea you are right. I will take that motor, tig weld a patch over the hole then take a file and matchg the case half's and after I build it back to stock it will make a great back up motor for the dirt drag Banshee. If you ever get a chance to dirt drag do it. It is so much fun. The best class is the streetbike class where they run a rear knobby tire. Always someone going down. One of the fastest guys has a stripped down goldwing. it flys.
