Pray on it. Maybe you should buy it from the vendor with best support, instead of the cut-rate guy??

What kind of support do you get on a tire?
____________
You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

It's not just about a tire...it's about the guys who make a living supporting us and the the sport. Get it? Save $5 at a cut-rate vendor, or support the one's who really help out...it's your choice.

I was wondering what's the difference from you buy part of a Brock CT system and then getting a cheaper muffler made for it to save a few dollars?

I didn't get a cheaper muffler to save a few dollars. I was working with Area P to make me a baffle-less reverse meg. The CT Meg didn't come out until months later, and I wanted the pipe to be as light as possible. The custom muffler was not going to save me any money, trust me.
Do you really think I was trying to save a few dollars?? Have you seen my bike??
Too funny...

Well if you look at your post on the CT, you put a $15 Auotzone muffler on it, sounds like saving money to me, I was just wondering why you are so worried about where others spend their money, as long as they are buying from a dealer, who cares where they get it and what they pay for something, they are supporting a dealer who is selling the parts needed so they are supporting all bikers and racers just like the big name guys are, just not paying extra for the big names, so if wheelie can get a tire for $100 from a mom and pop shop, that's great, they have to survive too.

Blah, blah, blah...
I put a $15 Autozone tip on it because an unexpected track day came up. Nothing more, nothing less. I wanted to be able to race and the new muffler wasn't ready.
Yes, you can spend your money anywhere. But why not spend a few bucks more to support the guys who give 110%?? I see it all the time...guys call a good vendor and bend their ear for support...then go to a cheapo outlet to buy the part in question. It sucks, and those who do it also suck.
Maybe you don't realize this, but the smaller vendors usually cost a little more. That is because things are cheaper in bulk. So your "mom and pop" analogy doesn't really fit in this case.

I believe the problem was the ct is metric pipe, instead of standard, so it was more difficult to make a muffler in time.... am I correct shane?
That being said, I don't really agree with spending $30 more per tire in order to support some guy. If they are competitive, then I will spend a little more dough.

Area P was working on a major project at the time, and the small lead time was outside of the 1 week notice I had from the track. The track day was late November, and added at short notice.
