nitrous ?
I have never used nitrous on a motorcycle before. I have used it in several cars. Now my question being is a 40 dry shot will hurt a stock 14 with a power comander and a pipe. what will the pistons hold? i ride the bike on the street but hit the dragstrips up when i can. So would i have to make two different fuel maps. One with the juice and one for n/a.

ya that would be the best thing to do, a 40 shot will last forever on a 14 just stay away from the limiter

I have heard of several people with a 40 shot with no problems. I would not recommend anything above that on a stock valvetrain.

ill be running a 30 shot. dont plan on really changing much. maybe a few cells at 100% throttle. 50+hp shot pull timing for sure

wet=$$ but safer, more of complex setup
dry=less $$ but do NOT go over 50shot without proper precautions taken, more simple setup
it depends on what you are wanting out of it

why do you say that wet is safer? Without a two dial it is more dangerous imo. If you hit the limiter with a dry shot, it won't keep revving, the same can't be said about a wet shot without a controller.

I have an 06 ZX-14 60 shot dry, Spray Bar, 5 Dial Nitrous Controller with 2 second build time, Schnitz Timing Retard pulling 4 degree's on a 2 second retard, Schnitz window switch turning nitrous on at 7,000 RPM & Off at 10,800 RPM. Tuned on 102 Octane Race Fuel, Somewhere between 30-35 Nitrous runs including Dyno Time. I don't know if you guys remember but I wanted to see how long it would last with a stock motor. So far, So good, Bike still runs good with 10,000 miles on odometer, Completely stock motor. I have had a spare motor sitting now for a year with Coby Adams ported polished head, Valve springs & retainers, & some other stuff waiting to go in it. I ride it on the street with my bike club as well, Looking forward to the day I get to change motors. I can't count the # of times I hit the rev limiter over the years of owning the bike. If it blew up tomorrow, I would not be mad, It's been a good motor. I could sleep good knowing all I had was a 40 shot on the bike. 4 busa's prior to the 14, & don't regret switching brands. All have been stock motors with Nitrous, Never had to replace a motor. Never went over a 40 on the busa's though, but did not pull any timing. A nitrous kit sells for $400, A good set up will cost $1000-1500.
