1st pics posted without an assist from a friend
As most of the regulars here know Craig Christ or Bawls has been assisting with pic posting for a while now. Well he has got to do a tour of duty very soon and will be on the low for the next six months. Chad sent me and the wifey some instruction the other night and we finally managed to post some pics. Many thanks to my pal Chad for all of his help and patience for the last year. Godspeed and prayers be with Chad while he is in harms way.

Very nice pics there 68! He helps me out too , from time to time, but now it looks like I'm on my own for awhile posting pics , ordering parts , and track tips? It helps to have a youngun that knows the ropes on the net , and at the track too! Guess I'll be bugging ol Wheelie a lot more for help for the next 6 months! We all can help somebody from time to time ! Quid pro quo

Are those GP slick tires? or just bad camera resolution? I'd love to put chromes on my silver '08, but only after I make my mind up on the zx10 wheel swap first........I'm learning from 68gts2's regret -- Still a nice ride though!!

tripple post,TNT,Hellmutt,1badzx12r
TNT,Chad has become a good friend over the last year even with him in Cali. He has become like the little brother I don't have. You have a good young gun there. O and thanks for the package I got from you, that is really nice Tim. Hellmutt they are Contintial sport attacks for the record. Have just 1 good ride one them and they inspire confidence the factory tires didn't. It is a crappy cell phone pic. 1badzx12r I had to do something to make you look man. I could have posted click here to never pay taxes again. Ha ha. Thanks for all the replies guys. Peyton

Why is it so shiny on the black areas, its supposed to be flat black/grey. Did you polish it? Just wonder I have an 08 SE myself and its not that shiny. Looks good by the way.

paint and the 08 se for zx14dreamin
The paint is not completly gloss at this point its a semi-gloss untill in bright sunlight then it really pops because of all of the metalflake in the paint. It is almost impossible to see this when flat black. When my salesman saw it his reply was"its like buying an old house with carpet, than pulling it up to find beautiful hardwood floors underneath". I have about 200 hours in buffing the paint on my bike at this point. It is a dificult project because you will burn thru the paint if you are to aggressive, but the results were worth it to me as I like to stand out in a croud, not blend in. Thanks for the complement.

I say again, that's a DAMN good lookin' bike - the best I've seen.
Ususlly chrome doesn't look all that good on these bikes, but on this one it looks just right.
Musta been a total bitch getting a uniform gloss on that flat paint. What products and techniques did you use?

paint product recipe
Jpooch thanks again for the kind words. The 1st stage was done with a 3m cleaner polish that my painter friend Scott turned me on to. It is on the expensive side, but worth every penny. It was like 60 bucks for a quart size bottle. That turned the flat into a dull heavy metalflake color, you can't believe how much flake is hiding in there. Then the process was a progression of polishes with less and less cutting ability to smooth out the swirl in steps. It now only is rubbed with pure caranuba wax to keep the oil in the paint fed and juicy looking.the machine used is called Fistina, aka my right hand. I tried a buffer on one panel and it burned thru. Had to order a new tail piece from the stealership, but it was cheaper than Colorite. I don't think most people would want to get into such a tedious project.

The Brockland police will be at your door very soon now Louis. They don't like us talking out loud about being Muzzy people. I wish I could post an audio clip of the shorty, its just Wicked sounding. Not much louder when cruzing, but when you get after it it has a sound that says it came to take care of business. I really like its kooks too.
