I'm definitely a twisty road freak -- don't have any plans to slam and/or stretch my 14.......ever. I've always been into roadracing and not much into drag racing -- but I do have mad respect for drag racers since they rely alot more on tuning and consistency with their bikes, and it seems to take more knowledge of the machines themselves to be a good dragger than it does to be a knee dragger -- especially since the majority of the rockets that these companies build are damn near ready to race with little help from the consumer.......so it makes our job that much easier when building a better track bike. Those of us that use our 14's to carve up backroads are definitely few vs. the number of owners that drag theirs.........so, cheers to a fellow knee dragger!!

90 percent of this forum is about "best times" and "best hook-up techniques".
I would like to see more about short wheel base mods and just somthing different!
If you dont agree then you probably wanted the health care bill to pass.
Oh, by the way...NO MORE POSTS ABOUT THE BUSA!! Theres a forum for that pig.

Lovin you all!!

Ok...so all the kneedraggin 14 riders start posting up then. It's that simple. If they ain't posting up...there probably isn't that many.

No reason there can't be both disipline's posting up. I found the actualy "drag" forum totally overrun by LSR stuff I dont' have a lot of interest in. Drag guys come to the 14 forum...kneedraggers get off yer ass an start posting up....

I have posted many times and pic's of going to Ozark Mountains and just riding

the speed limit. Big fun, soft luggage (yes Bawls) and tank bag and ride 400 miles to mountains. get motel room remove soft luggage and have several days of taking pic's and just riding in all the turns and hills. Some of us can not afford three different bikes. :-)

My thanks to All the members here that have helped with tech and maintance tips.

I dont hang off the 14 for a knee drag senser the bike is to big & wide . I use it brute power out of the Apex in the mountains to blow off other riders ; small bikes in tight race tracks need the sencser & full lean .
One thing the ZX14 does is rolls rubber snot balls off the edge of the rear tire like I have never seen a bike do due to it shear brute power & size coming out of a sweeper.

Yes this is a ZX14 site but some like to switch it up alittle like Bently. Alot of people go back and forth between bikes. I know Bently and it don't matter what he rides because he rides both well!!! And for twisty/corner stuff, just put it up. I think we will all benefit from both. Just my 2 cents.

the 14 really isnt a warrior in the cornering department, its more like a machete where most 1000s are more like a scalpel, the 14s fat and long lol there is a reason that when the 14 is talked about being a track bike its strait line not laguna seca, they do ok in the corners but my ten will rip it apart

A good rider on a 600 will beat a 14 in the tight turs in the Ozark Mountains where I ride.

I am just too tall and too old for a small Sport Bike. We all know this, just like a Gold Wing

is easier on the butt on the open road. Wish I had the coin I woud have severl more rides to pick from :-)

Can everybody stop whining like little bitches and just enjoy their big ninjas. Really, no matter what kind of ridin you do all info should be welcomed here. I'm not a drag racer but when people on this site are talkin about our bikes its all good. I like hearin everything about the 14. As for the Booza guys that pop up and occasionally talk trash just give it up already. Cause everybody knows the 14 is far superior anyway. Lol

a ZX14 will get killed by a 600 or 1000 on the track -- but that's USUALLY up to the rider moreso than the bike they're riding. On my 14, I was just under 2 seconds slower than my best lap on my Yammie 1000 track bike at our local raceway -- and back then I was smoking inexperienced 600 riders -- couple of 'em figured it was the power pulling me ahead of them when in fact I could push it in the corners just a bit tighter than they could -- but that was the inexperience working against them as they weren't nearly as comfortable "backing" it in as I was -- the power did help on the straights but didn't cut my time as much as getting inside of them on the snug turns I love trimming up those race lines!!

You want it to corner put on a real suspension then a set of Michelin, the best are the "Power Pure" for the street (see chart).

and for suspension I suggest pay these folks a visit or give them a call for best options:

I will continue to post on this section as I feel this is the best board out there for the drag racer weather I ride a busa, cbr, bmw or what ever. if you don't like it don't read it. as far as you corner carvers it would be nice to see a section for you but that would cover all bikes as well iMO.

You ride a Busa?

I kind of miss that crazy street riding, but it's just too risky for me these days.

yes Lee, bently went to "The Dark Side" and gave away his 14, said where he lived a 14 was not worth much. His words, just sayin. He is a little touchy bout it right now :-)
Several of us was kidding him and got his feeling hurt.
