What pipes were 8 second Supersport bikes running before the CT came out? Or are you saying that no Supersport bike ever ran an 8 before the CT?
No ..I'm just saying every zx14 there this weekend running 8s had a CT pipe ..
I did some digging and most guys mph are the same this year in supersport as it was last year without the ct pipe, they should have all been in the 160's with the ct. and congrats to Tommy for making it as far as he did that's some tuff competition at those ama races in street et. might try to hit Indy myself this year for the 9.50 amd street et class.

Which leans towards the fact that the HP is in the motor not the pipe.

I know Ricky and a few others had the CT last year .. I has been out for sometime now ..Bently think about what you are saying ..These guy were allready making 200 HP and there gains would be smaller than Jesse gains ..The faster you go the more HP you need to see gains .. If you allready have 200 your are not going to see the gains Jesse got ..
If i can i'd like to run ET street also ... Maybe i might be able to run the last race of the year in Ga , that is if work picks up ..

I don't think that anyone doubts he went 155 mph...the questions were more about how much gain was from the pipe alone.

Here is the deal! I'm not questioning any of the time slips mph or anything else! Jessies bike dynoed at 172 HP and he went 155 mph on a worn out stock zx14 motor with the CT pipe? The SS bikes like Ricky Gadson, Jeremy Teasly, Farlie Hall and others all ran the same MPH with a known 200 hp race trimmed SS zx14 motor. How does a stock motor with 25 less HP run the same MPH? HP equals MPH and everyone knows that. My gripe is that I spent over $1k on my SMEG less than a year ago and I know that my pipe is not holding back an additional 8HP. The CT is nice and it's really light as well. Please after reading this, step back and say hmmmmmmm how do two zx14's with 25 HP difference both run 155 mph.
BTW...GO TOMMY GO!!!!!!!!!!!!

At this weekends race Hall went 159 mph ... That is not the 155 Jesse ran ...That makes it clear that hall bikes is making more hp than jesse bike ..

Yeah the big boys were all running in the 158 to 159 range. On my bike it took between 15 and 20 hp increase to gain 5mph in the 1/4. With more weight on the bike I should also add.

The question wasn't whether it is a better pipe...because it is. The question was, is it 5+ mph better? And the answer for most of the free world is no...you will not see 5 mph from this pipe. But who expects 5 mph, really? Even 1 mph at this level is a huge improvement, imo. It's a stock motor (in many cases), and you are only going to see so much gain.
The pipe has more ground clearance than a Shortmeg. When they put it on RG's bike, they also put a lower profile drain plug and shaved the guard, which allowed the bike to sit lower. I believe that was also mentioned. Being able to leave harder is going to pay bigger dividends in ET than a few hp would.
