Where to get 2 piece racing leathers?

Been shopping around for 2 piece leathers. I like the Alpinestar Octane 2pc and have found acouple places that ask $689. Anybody got a good source?
All input about racing suits is appreciated.

JR 2-piece GPX-Type R suit. I have the black/gunmetal and love it.

newenough.com

http://newenough.com/protective_apparel/leather_racing_suits/joe_rocket/gpx_type_r_two_piece_motorcycle_race_suit.html

...and YES the shit is brand new. That suit is mostly $529-549. I have a size 52 and paid $529.99, but I think price went up a bit since 2005.

Nick that suit is NICE!!!

kawguy, cyclegear.com probably has a store close to you. if not see them online. the nice thing about them is usually you can get closeout leathers cheap because they stock so much stuff.

I got my last 2-piece dainese from their. wish I'd have got alpinestars, that'll be my next set.

ok, speaking of closeout prices at cyclegear, I got jacket and pants, pucks, protection for under 600 bucks. in dainese, thats unheard of.

Not bad smokin! I hate those high collars though. That's why I never get TEKNIC anymore.

Speaking of which, I have a Perforated size 52 Teknic jacket that was only worn 1 year that I'll sell for $150 to anybody here! PM if you want. Peforated TEKNIC leather pants too for $65 I'll sell them. Another Hein Giercke X-Large Tall perforated jacket 3 year old I'll sell for $75!

if only they made them people other than stick men or barrel belly's.
I am 32-34 inseam, 5-8 tall
fit 50 Jacket, and 36 pants.,
the waists are huge , arms and thighs tight.
when I try to match pants that fit with a jacket that fits, the 2 piece zipper is off center and I have like 6" left hanging out .... :P, zipper that is LOL....

anyone my size have luck with any specific model?

I found alpinstars and Joe rocket to fit best,
but still really loose in th waist when everything else fits.

If you wear a 2-piece suit at least make sure the zip goes all the way round. You wouldn't want it to ride up if you ever come off. A friend of mine had that happen and swears he'll never wear 2-piece again, he's got the gravel rash to back that up. But hey, at least it's better than riding in denim.

Oh, yeah, my 2piece is full circumference zipper attachment. Those 6-8" zippers are a joke.

Dubious, I know what you mean though. My suit fits good, but waist is loose. Zipping them together with the full zipper fixes it though.

I got that same problem...36-30 inseam 5-10"
I wear a 2XL in the chest and a med for arm length...and i guess i'm supposed to be like 6-3" to have a 36 inch waist...lol. I guess all that weight lifting as a kid doesn't pay off when looking for motorcycle gear..now if i could just get my damn weight under 200 pounds!

Thanks all !!
Ended buying at a shop 75 mi. away.
My riding partner and I went to cycle gear and acouple of other places. The sales staff at the Tacoma store was young guys collecting a pay stub. Useless.
Got 2 fit, middle age guys asking about riding suits that rode in on sport bikes. CHA-CHING!!!! No help from the staff. No one else in the store....,whatever.
Helped ourselves and $2000 IN SALES walked away unsold.
Will hava talk with the manager of the store about his personal..
Ended up with 2 new Shift 2pc.suits ( full zipper, redesigned pucks) when we tripped over a sales rep showing the staff at a local Yamaha shop the new line of shift gear.
That kid was born to sell and he backed it up with enthusiasum for our sport. And the 30 something owner was totally into biking and will get a shot at any business I do.
Oh yea we got $100 off each suit by buying together.
At that price point couldnt do better elsewhere for anything simular. And had gear in hand that fit like a glove which is priceless.
I love fired up bike people and they always get my biz.., especailly w/15% discount!!

Ninjanick, PM me pictures of your gear. Am doing a event next week and might find a home, if I dont buy them. Later, TC

Thanks Steve I'm happy I didnt have much hassle shopping.

bigtdt,
that newenough site is worth alook.
Just their info on fitting is worth checking on. Best info on fit I found.
Guess it just depends on your model of coat.
The zipper type and size changes from model to model, year and make it seems
. You might end up with China made top (Alpinestar) and Italian bottom (my guess is dianese from cycle gear might work)

LMAO! haha

It was like 1:00AM, I was ready for bed. I told my wife to keep me out of it and she managed to get some armpit hair! I swear, if you want something done right, do it yourself huh? lol. Those jackets aren't to light to be holding out like that while they're hanging for a few minutes while my wife keeps saying "No, that one sucked, hold on."

Hey Flatbayou! Here's the picture of the pants you wanted:

The perforated Teknic's run a lot smaller and you have to be around 34-36 Levi jeans. You wear 38 in jeans, you won't be able to wear the Teknic's ....TRUST ME!
