Update from Prostar .. Jesse and Tommy

Jessejames82 along with Tommy are running AMA Prostar this weekend in Ga. Both Jesse and Tommy are running ET street class ... Tommy went out first round with a 9.00 @ 150 on his 64 inch zx14 .... Jesse on his stock wheel base zx14 has won two rounds and is still in the game .. Jesses best today so far was a 9.28 @ 155 ... That was with a poor 60 time of 1.59 .. His 330 time was 3.97 .... 1/8 was 6.00 @ 123 ..

This is the first real test for Jesses bike with his New Brocks CT pipe ... Jesses old pipe ( brocks alien head ) his was running about the same ETs but his MPH was 148 to 149 .. That 148 149 was two weeks ago in real cold air ..

Jesses bike is back halfing real good ... 123 in the 1/8 mile and 155 in the 1/4 mile .. That is a 32 MPH back half .. The new CT pipe is really making some power .. Jesse with his new found power is having a hard time controlling the power in the lower gears .. Once jesse get a handle on the extra power and can put down a low 1.50 pass he should see some lower 9s

zx14s in Super sport .... It has been reported to that two zx14 have gone in the 8s today .. One was an 8.90 flat and the other was a high 8.90s..

Jessie got knocked out 3rd round. His dial in was too low. He dialed an 9.15 and ran a 9.25. Other guy ran right close to his dial in time.

Jesse just called me and said he had another 155 MPH pass .... He had a 1.55 60 footer but had a wheely and had to trim the throttle to keep the wheel down ..

they run as quick as 8,80s in supersport. would be a waste of time. im sure hes just testing to get to that point.

As quick as you are correct..............but they often run 9.teens and it running pro tree adds a little excitement as well. If he dialed a 9.teen then he is in the hunt.

With some of the qualifying passes I saw posted yesterday he would of been in about the middle of the pack. Ricky and a couple others were busting out 8.90's as usual though. Entry fee to run SS is a whole lot more than to run Street ET.

By what I was looking at on live timing Jesse picked the wrong dail in. he ran like 3 9.28's but dailed a 9.15 that's a sure way to get loaded up. looks like if he would have dailed about a 9.26 he would have been in the hunt for the whole thing.

Smokin did you dno your new ct exhaust vs your old one. I was told by someone at Brocks the ct makes 1 to 2 hp more then the street meg or alien head and there's noway that's enough hp to pick up 5 to 6 mph. if your not a really consistent rider that's not enough hp to even realy notice a difference IMO. I really like the looks of the ct just can't see that much money for 1 to 2 hp.

Yes it makes 2 to 3 hp up top ... BUT that is not the hole story ... It makes 8+ HP at 7k .. and a but load of extra TQ as well .. That is where the MPH comes from ..

Jesse bike same Map same fuel two weeks ago 148 to 149 in great air ... The only change was the CT pipe now 154- 155 ... I have never run 155 at stock wheel base , at 62 inches i have been 155 but not at stock wheel base .. The CT pipe works , just look at the back half numbers ...

I can't say that my results agree with those....is that chart his bike with CT, thin head gasket, and degree'd cams vs your stock motor 09 with Street Meg?

I'm going to have to wait untill smokin see's what his mph goes to. 5 to 6 mph is alot for a pipe change IMO. I just look at my buddys bike that is spraying 40 hp at 7000 from 1st gear on and he picks up way more then 8 hp at 7000 rpm and only picks up 8 mph. sohow can 8 hp at 7000 pick up 5 tp 6. not saying I'm right with my thinking but hp is hp nos or pipe right? I wonder how much was track and weather vs pipe.

If Brock would catch up with the times and offer ECU flashes for his pipe I might try one.

Oldkawiboy saw it in his bike , now i have seen it first hand in Jesse bike ...Brock said Ricky Gason had a hard time riding his when he switched to the CT pipe .. Every super sport zx14 at Prostar had the CT pipe and were running 156+ mph ..

The dyno chart above is my bike Vs Jesse bike ...Jesses bike has a thin head gasket and cams set to factory center line numbers .... Jesses bike had all mods two weeks ago and would only run 149 ... now it's 155 ... Must be i waved a magic wand over his bike..

My dyno charts, both on my bike, Shortmeg vs. CT:

Lower rpm mapping is not similar, but upper/mid is. Non-standard mufflers, but I believe that even Brock said all the power is in the header. No question it is stronger in the upper/mid area. But not 8 hp in my case, more like 4 hp bump in one spot, and nowhere near even 3 or 4 mph on the big end. The peak hp is about the same on my bike.

In the upper/mid it was 12.7-12.8. I suspect that I gained some 330' from the CT..but zilch mph on top. I mean, 5 or 6 mph would be a huge gain on top...more like you would see with nitrous.

Look it makes more HP and TQ way below 7k ... Look at the dyno chart ... It makes more power from start to finish .. You don't think it will MPH more? ..
Two week ago jesse in 60 deg air goes 149 .. yesterday in 70 deg air he goes 154- 155 .. It is true that this numbers came from two different tracks ...BUT the track he ran 149 at is the very same track Noobe ran 159 and i ran 158 ..The same track everybody here said the MPH is too HIGH !!!

Hell jesse can hardly ride the bike because it wheelys were it never wheelied before ...I have seen and heard the bike run a 1000 times and know that it has the CT pipe to bike acts like a hole different bike and sounds totaly different also ..I could see and feel the power difference while running it on the dyno ..The bike back halfed 32 MPH !!! Don't forget Jesse bike is worn out , 10,000 miles of pure hell ..
Believe me or not i really don't care ...I have never posted a mod that didn't work and if it didn't work i told you it didn't work ..

Well, Lee, with all due respect...

I know my bike pretty well also. I've invested a lot of work, track time, and money in it. And I've tried a few different pipes. On my bike...at the track, and on the dyno...it didn't gain like Jesse's bike. I love the CT, and I think it is the best pipe you can get for the track/street machine...no question. But I just didn't see the big gains.

Maybe his gasket and cams degree were a tailor fit for the CT? I think that is possible since the pipe was obviously made with Supersport in mind...

Well shane i can tell why your bike runs like shit ... BUT i can tell you Jesses bike does NOT have any spray on it ...To even hint that i put spray on Jesse to get that MPH is just fucking stupid..

Guess what, Lee....FUCK YOU. And I really mean that.

I didn't hint about spray. I hinted that to expect 5-6 mph without spray is stupid. You are writing this shit and folks expect to see 5-6 mph from switching from a Shortmeg to a CT...that is just plain ridiculous.
