Bass & Associates repo negotiations

Has anyone had experience with Bass & Associates who is working for HSBC? If so what did you do to negotiate the keeping of your bike? Thanks...

I would suggest making a payment or partial payment and that may back HSBC off for a while. Thats just a guess, not really sure

I would love to but HSBC said they cant take it as they turned it over to Bass. Bass wants 8800 dollars and this is verbal only over the phone and I have not recieved any formal letter. I dont want to give any money without some type of formal arrangement.

HSBC is hard to do bussiness with. I refinanced my house several years ago and paid off HSBC... Credit card and also GE Credit..... Chevron,Sleep#bed, Paypal M/C credit card
Care One credit card for dental work are all expedited by GE Credit and Several
Hearing aid companies use GE Money Credit worse the HSBC high intrest and customer service lied
to my late Dad last year. said he could try hearing aid free for a few weeks, returned it and then was charged $500.00 WTF. They told dad he could make payments so he sent in first payment then Collection agency starting calling us for Past Due balance Liars.

Tell bass to come get it.....don't have 8K cash.. the engine has a loud knocking noise that you were going to tear down and fix. Who wants to repo a motorcycle with a bad motor??? Then tell them you will make a payment to save your credit . They lie to us. Fu-k HSBC

Lab- I know the bike would bring around 4 grand at an aution plus transportaion fees, repo fees and other Bass op fees for a low milage great bike. That would net them around 2-3 grand in their pocket IF the bike sold at an aution (not too many buyers at this time of year). I was hoping to pay them around 5 grand for the release of reg to me? There has to be someone else out here in ZX land who has or is going thru this that could ultimately help a bit.

Im going through a divorce and for the first time in my life have gotten behind on a loan, and its my bike loan to. Hsbc has been very cool about this whole thing so far, but im only 3 month behind now, it will be 4 months before I make a payment to bring it current. They Set me up for a payment later this month over the phone and stoped calling me. Ive talked to 3 people from hsbc and all of them were very nice and understanding.

Wow things have changed in two years at HSBC. CS was no help with charges on Master card that I did Not charge. Big hassle getting the funds returned, got a much better
% intrest rate with CITI Bank.

knydecker, I highly doubt you'll be able to just offer paying x amount. I don't think that's how it works. You owe 8.8k, so you'll be expected to pay that much if you want to keep it. Otherwise the rest of HSBC customers suffer with higher rates. HSBC doesn't take a hit, they simply pass that on to the customers. I would suggest calling them and explaining that you can make a payment of X right now, and continue making a payment of Y in the future. Good luck.

There was an article in the paper a few weeks ago about a repo man and him and his wife said most places won't repo something unless you dodge their calls as a last resort. It is also possible that HSBC sold your loan to Bass and can't really take any payments. With the economy the way it is it seems like most places are willing to work with you as long as you make some kind of an effort.

HSBC has made it clear that they can not handle the loan anymore at this time. I figured they sold it to Bass for dimes on the dollar. I am intending to pay for the bike and I am currently current on my payments to HSBC. I am in contact with Bass and would be curious if anyone else has delt with them.

This is new situation to me, in Canada we don't have financial institutions selling loans to other lenders without maintianing the original contract with the customer.

are you behind on payments? or is HSBC going tits up?
