Cool! Hopefully by saying it will be out soon doesn't mean a few years lol! I hated that when I would call them and ask when the filter was coming out back in 06. Took 'em forever and a year and they kept saying soon . BMC came out for a long time before K&N and I waited for a bit longer for K&N to release the filter . I went with BMC and I gotta say I love the quality over K&N .
Rant over lol.

Same Quality pretty much between the two fibers. The racing filters are thinner and less durable to allow better air flow .

I am Happy with the "Street" thicker and "Light" thin coat of oil. design K&N. Street bike guys. Go to Track............screw it pull the filter. No Sand in my air box 8k miles in mountins and here in Ft.Worth,Texas street miles this last 13 months. Cleaned every 3000 with oil and filter, had bugs in it and a lot of dirt. Rolling "Vacumm cleaner.with Ram Air.

Own a house? Use a thin air filter in the HVAC unit? Trailer Bike's that do not "Live" on the street are excluded :-) Some small amout of filtered air for Racing is a Smart thing. And maybe not so smart. Is it the difference in a Win???

K&N should have done this years ago. But they were the "Leader" for 40 years. It took the "others" awhile to catch up. HP wise I bet there is not much difference from a "street"
K&N to their new thinner one. A sales thing. New improved etc. I could be wrong I am sure several members will have a comment.......

Flame on was correct .

K&n realeased their race version for the Boosa about 2 years ago. I called and asked when the race 14 was scheduled and was almost laughed at for asking. Looked at the foam filter being pushed on net,but foam turns to dust quickly so passed. BMC came out with their race version about that time. I looked for input here while still a lurker here purchased the BMC race. It is an exceptional product. As long as k&n has shunned the 14 faithful with their version I think we should do the same to support them. Damn shame to say this about an american product!

The BMC has a much better sealing rubber when compared to stock or the k&n imho.
The rubber is a nice soft red rubber
