What does denotation or (engine ping) sound like on a zx14? (48-50 shot dry)
I’m thinking of adding a spray bar 50 dry shot without pulling timing on BP 93 pump gas with a progressive controller . Has anyone tried this combo? Will it works? What does denotation or (engine ping) sound like on a zx14?

The sound of detonation on a 50 shot is much like the sound of your wallet opening.
I would play it safe and pull a little timing.

Good point, but I can't find a EFIR for 07 zx14(I have a nos mini, PCIII, and Hub with Map switch), what would you guys use to pull timing?

I'm tring to stop buying high priced gas(MR9 $134 5gal). So I can ride the bike to the track and not have to drain the tank every night after racing.

get the power commander ignition module. you have the hub, just make a spray map and a nitrous map. you can adjust timing and do a lot of other neat tricks with it.

Me just peeking in on this not knowing much about NOS. Why would you try and cut corners on fuel to save a couple bucks? A blown engine will cost you much more. High octane fuel costs no where near MR9 maybe 15 bucks a gallon or so. Do you plan on running a 5lb NOS bottle? You will probably only get 2 passes on a 2 lb bottle and besides when you blow it up running pump gas it is going to suck balls pushing it home.

101 is like 7-10 bucks a gallon and would be good for it, my bike was tuned with 101 on a 50 shot and i never had any problems i put about 25-30 pounds of nitrous to it in a years time, now its going turbo same stock motor not even springs yet knock on wood

I honestly don't think it will slow you down much if you pulled -2 degrees. If I remember it right it was -1 degree for every 40-50 hp shot of nitrous. -2 would just be added insurance. Would highly recommend some dyno time if you're going to spray 50hp.
Just my 2 abe lincolns.

Guys I think it is good to error on the side of caution, that being said, I have been spraying a 50 shot since the bike was new in Sept. of 06. I have always run premium pump gas and let her eat. There is no need to pull timing until you cross the 50hp threshold. The most important thing is a good map to ensure you are getting the proper amount of fuel. I finally pulled the head just due to the amount of nos passed on the bike and everything looked fantastic. I run my spray through a Schnitz two knob controller and bring it in slowly so I don't hit anything hard inside the motor. I put springs in the head and put it back together. Ready for a few more years of flogging. These things are engineering marvels!

BTW, if you guys are considering spraying, one thing to keep in mind is this. If you spin and hit the rev-limiter, close the throttle, if your opponent is even decent you lost anyway. This is where guys get in trouble with spitting shims.

Well, there are exceptions to every rule I guess.
For me it wouldn't be worth risking. I have too much time and money invested in my bike. I think most would agree that it is not a good idea to spray 50 on pump gas without pulling timing.
Just curious, how long do you stay on the button? What is your a/f? How much change in rwhp when you are spraying? How slow are you bringing it in with the 2-dial?
Track results? Size of your nitrous bottle, bottle pressure, pressure regulation?

When i would spray my bike with the 40-50 shot i would try to stay out of 6th gear so i would do 1-5th gear pulls on the button gearing was 16/44, my AFRs were set at 11.8 on 101 with the 50 shot it made like 47hp over my motor did and the 40 shot made right at 39hp

No spray bar on my bike, i wanted to put one on but never got around to it. i had 2 nozzles going in to the inspection plates they were crossing each other, and there was 1 jet at the solenoid
This is a pic of the graph on the 40 shot .036 jet
