Engine Ice

What's the general opinion on "Engine Ice"?
I'll be doing a flush on the cooling system this Spring once my bike comes out of storage. Am considering using engine ice instead of merely replacing the green stuff with more green stuff.

I have used all kinds of these products, They all work. But pay attention to directions, most work much better if you mix with just water. Be warned most of these products do not offer any freeze protection (except Engine Ice) and will reduce the boiling point without a anti freeze mix with them. Also stay clear of mixing any coolant up with deionized water in a new system or any system that has not had antifreeze used in it for some time. I have found Royal Purple super coolant works great on the street when mixed with about 20% antifreeze half bottle of the super coolant and a gallon of DISTILLED water. This mix offers greater heat transfer, some freeze and boil over protection. Dont expect to see cooler running temps, the thermostat will keep the motor temp the same as before, but under high loads the cooling system will be more efficient. The idea is to keep the cylender head a bit cooler and make a few more ponies. In a nut shell yes they all work when used right, they all provide metal protection, in cooler regions I wouldnt mess with it. But if its warm go for it.

A friend used it last time he flushed his bike. He says it doesn't cool any better than the original fluid. Also there is no anti freeze in it so it will freeze if temps drop too low. It is recommended to change more frequently & costs up the butt. Not sure about it's anti corrosion aspects. It gets a thumbs down from me.

After reading 3000psi's reply I checked and he is right about the anti freeze properties, good to -27 degrees. Still didn't cool his bike any better.

using engine ice and love it. it is premixed so no having to get distilled water.....it is true your thermostat keeps you at the same temp but the engine ice mixture is more proficient at transferring heat. the bike cools off faster when you have been sitting at a light and get going again preventing heat soak. used in steamy florida traffic over 2 years no problems. cool blue color.

Have used engine ice and agree that the bike seems to run at about the same temp and I am not sure about the cooling down quicker just cause I never really payed attention. I will say this, if you are planning on doing any racing tracks do not like antifreeze just because it is a pain to clean up. This is why I made the change.

I've used it in several of my bikes and I have seen a drop in fan cycles with it. SV650 the fan hardly came on. On all my ZRXs the fan cycled far less than it did with just coolant. I have not tried it in my 14 yet, but will when it comes time to flush the system out.

I've had nothing but positive results with using Engine Ice in any of my recent bikes

I use it and dont find much difference at all. Now the ZX10 fender really cools her down.
