Datona Bike Week
Is anyone planning on going to Datona for Bike Week? If so where are the 14s going to be? I'm going with some buddy's (from Michigan) Thursday and staying through Sunday.

Me and the wife will be working the demo event with Kawasaki again. We'll be set up in front of the track so stop by, say hello and take a demo ride if time allows. Always great to meet board members.

Pack of us go every year -- we trailer the bikes from Ohio to a buddy's in Edgewater Fl to dump the truck/trailer and then ride from there up to Daytona. Be on the lookout for Extreme Tattoo's booth and you'll find me somewhere close........meet you all there!!

There's a nice thought; go to a rally to be with like minded people and have a good time only to find your bike stolen.
As much as I would love to go to one of these things, it isn't worth losing my bike over it.
Those that attend, be careful and have a good time and keep your bikes in site...

IF my bike is put back together by then I plan on going. Kinda hard gathering parts and living in a different town than your ride :-(

Went last year and stayed for the entire event. Had a ball. Maybe someday again. Rode all the way back to Calif in almost perfect weather. A trip to remember.
John's son won best dyno run at Bike Week on my fully OEM bike which had about 1200k miles on it... against a new slightly mod'ed, beautiful 08 BUsa (pipes and PC III). He had two 8.5's somethings and an 8.6 something. The Busa was a 10.2 and a few low 9's. Matt, the owner, had no idea he was being put up against a ringer. John reitred from the racing industry and his son starting. The kid has reflexes.

I live an hour away and have never even considered going. I see and hear what happens there first hand. Lots of guys die every year due to accidents caused by alcohol. Lots of bikes stolen as well.

I've been going since I moved here in '72, got the tickets to prove it. Some years the cops are out of control, hassle you for everything. Other times not so bad. Lately they've been on a binge, ticket happy asswipes. The racing will probably suck wad as the AMA/DMG debacle continues. Still it's unlike anything else. Besides it's fun to watch someone else get arrested for wheelying, burnouts, thongs, public intoxication. Just be cool around town & save the speed for out in the boonies. Now if I could only follow my owm advice it would cut down on my expenses. Oh well off to Daytona again, see ya at lock-up!

I ride over every year and go to the speedway to check out all the new bikes. Never had any problems. Don't ride like an idiot and the cops will leave you alone.

+1 on that one ,every once in awhile you get that asshole cop, but it's been awhile since i've been harrased by them, I just stay low key around town and play around on the outskirt's of town where there is no traffic!!!!

Last year was my first year going and I had a blast! I only live 1hr away and commuted for 3 days straight. The last day I rode with a club I belong to and it was amazing to see all of the different bikes, styles of different people, and the comradery amongst riders!

i have been going for the past two years since i started riding...its fun i usually just go up one morning and head back be for the sun is down to orlando. one day there is enough for me. maybe this year i can ride up there on the new '08 i have my eye on..hopefully.

stevewfl i will ride over and back one day. terry and i went and met up at hooters across from the speedway. saw oldkawboy and lots of cool new bikes, don't forget the kawi and ducati girls....bring out that connie!

I'm there with my buddy - 2 14's. SteveWFL - we need to hookup there...maybe at Hooters like the last time. We're there from the 26th till the end. I still have your cell so I'l give you a holler. Is Oliver going too?
