anyone with a SW?
for those of you that have a zx14 with a sidewinder, would you mind getting a few measurements of the tubing for me? im interested in the primary tube diameter before and after the taper(if infact it tapers), the "2" section diameter, and the collector after the 2 section (the start of the meg)
or if its a 4-1 obviously ignore the 2 section
if possible (the pipe is off the bike) could you also get ID of the primary tubes?
also, how wide is this? say from the outside of number one primary to the other side of the bike on the outside of the 2 section or turn on a 4-1 setup. how high is the setup measured from the top of the primary tubes to the very lowest point
Im wanting to compare to a zx12 SW. thinking a sw from a 14 may fit and may work better on the motor/nitrous setup i have planned
thx!

you might try shooting kerry bryant an e-mail. I know that he has made some sidewinders. He might be able to shed some light on the situation.

got a reply from Dave at Muzzys about the M14 pro stock sw. small tubing? wtf? i expected the first number to be at least 1 1/2
1.1/4 X 1.3/4 X 1.7/8 X 2.1/4 outlet
has anyone noticed this pipe to make peak power before the rev limit and then start to sign off? (with an excellent tq curve?)

Scott, I'm pretty sure that the exhaust ports are smaller on the 14.
Even my TiWinder and the CT are pretty small at the cylinder head. But even so, these Brock's pipes hold peak power from 9-11k rpm.
The TiWinder and CT use the same spigots and ti construction, which means both should have the same pipe ID of a hair over 1.4" at the cylinder head.

Stock rev limit on the 14 is right at or a little under 11k actual. Not many people here have the motor for 12k rpm or more. The 14 is quick because of it's wide and controllable power, not so much the power at peak revs.
Remember the 14 stock is 61mm stroke. That's more than a 4.6mm 12R, right out of the box. The larger motors are 65-66 mm stroke, and not many seem to find a need/practicality to rev those engines really high.

its not looking good for a "bolt on" for my idea I plan on getting up to at least 12.5k with a med sized 59.4mm crank. Im pretty sure a Muzzy pro pipe or a SW with equal sized tubing would be the best bet. that means custom sw or modified brocks sw. that latter wouldnt be that bad....

Is rpm really the issue? Or is it more about the amount of air that you can move through the pipe? Plenty of nitrous 14's out there.

the amount of air. which goes up with rpm or any sort of power adder i guess. I want to have Muzzy pro pipe/sw dimensions on the start of a brocks sw

I was hoping my 12 side winder might work on my 14. The spacing is correct, but the 12 is larger and will not fit into the 14's ports so it's not an easy swap.(Like Shane mentioned, the 12 has larger ports.)

wrongway (Roy) mentioned he had to cut the ends off of the muzzy pipe he had on his 14( zx12 pipe) and put on different ends. probly best left to professionals. I know a local guy that does beautifil tig work. you should see some of the turbo headers he has made for different cars, equal length tubing even
