1st night stretched...

1st night stretched...ssuucckkeedd. 1st run I thought I would take off easy and get a feel. Missed the pegs pulling my legs up, then thought the clutch had slipped as it suddenly revved to the limiter. I backed it off and finished out. Track lights and timing weren't working. Waited 30 minutes to run again. Left fairly easy, then rolled on hard and was off like a rocket. Leaving easy I had a 1.68. Mid track suddenly it revved to the limiter and I realized it was breaking loose. Slid around a little bit but had control and finished out. Tried one more time and again spun mid track. Changed lanes and it spun out again mid-way enough that the back end probably swung about a foot and a half back and forth. Just loaded it up and took it to the house. Saw a 'busa running high 10's, GXSR1000's running 11's. Not too good. Anyway, that's the way it goes. I'll try again next week and see if it's any better. A few new pics of my babys just to make me smile.

Did you heat up the tire 1st? Drop the air pressure?

One of the big differences in a stretched bike is there's not as much weight over the rear tire so it wants to get loose alittle easier. Don't give up! You will get the hang of it!
If the track is poorly prepper drop down to 12-15psi

Yep. Burned out each time. I had dropped my pressure down to about 28 or so before running. After the second run I dropped it to about 18-20. I'm running Metzeler M3's and they usually stick well.

HOLY SHIT... get that thing in the dirt man. Even with the stretch it's going to be hard to launch with it looking like a monster truck.

Track was prepped about 2 weeks ago from what I understand. Was like fly paper at the launch. I wasn't even trying that hard, just easing it out and I was around my best times at swb. It started spinning somewhere mid track.

Bawls - LOL- Dude, I at least strap it before I run, so it is a bit lower. Not too sure I want to go to that last hole with the stock oil pan.

It's alright. I'll go next week and give it some hell at the launch; get that 60ft down.

It's your tires, I had those same exact tires on mine and I could never get those tires to hold the bike. I switched to the shinko u-soft and haven't had a problem since...

4444, man that strap could be your problem! If you don't wheelie , don't strap! Then if you can't spin , strap it a little ! Lower the bike , tune the suspension, play with the air and the strap! Shine my man!

That tire just won't hold, strap is not the problem. On a well preped track my buddy stretched his 08 busa which has a more sticky tire then an m3 and he could not hook with the strap lose and 9 psi. on a well preped track. my supercorsa hooked that same day with 28 psi in it!

Oh man! You guys got me ready to go out right now! I'll be out next Wednesday and give it hell. Never thought about the M3's being trouble. Hmmm... With stock wheelbase, the last few times at the track, I was walking it down nicely - 10.2, 10.1,10.0, then when I was really rolling on hard to get that 9, it was breaking loose, everytime. I just thought it was the track going away. I've never had a problem in the middle of the track, though.

Stretched is a whole new game, but a decent tire on and you will be fine. If that tire will hook you will need to be down to at least 15 psi.

Glad to see you stretched it, if you want I have a Usoft mounted on a 12R rear wheel you can borrow to try.

Great to hear from you R! I was hoping you'd been on the track recently and could tell me how it was. Before I left, I was actually the fastest bike that I saw times on. I've been twisty riding exclusively for several months, so I wanted to ease into that change of attitude you have to have when switching between twisty and drag. The track made me a little nervous so I just packed it in. I live about 11/2 hrs away now so it's a bit more of an ordeal to get there. I have already looked into the Michelin Power One and may go with that, but we'll see...maybe I'll take you up on that offer.

I had the exact set up you have now...you need an U-soft tire or drag tire its the only think i could find that would hook without lowering the rear more. U-soft 14-15 psi should take care of it. good luck
