Is it me or do I just want to repeat Old School

Hi All,

Well I've been reading about Honda Considering bringing the CB1100 to America. I have to say that this does interest me but I'm not sure Why??? Am I alone in thinking these bikes are beautiful or am I stuck in the 80's??

I don't know if this bike will be more or just as reliable as the previous bikes. One of the guys I work with warned me that I should never use Champion Spark plugs in an air Cooled engine, but I'm unsure if that would still apply to this new bike.

If I were allowed to go back and bring one bike into the Teens it would have to be the CBX-1000. Suzuki considered building a 6 cylinder air cooled bike but I only read one article about it 2 years ago.

So if you could bring one bike back what would it be?

Lost in the 80's tonight.

I'm old school but love the new bikes too.

I've still got a '78 KZ1000 that I bought new 31 years ago this past June. A good buddy bought a '79 CBX new the next year and still has his........I love that bike!
I bought a ZRX a few years ago 'cause I just love the styling of the true naked bikes and the ZRX is really a cool bike, I have a blast riding mine.

I'd like to see the ZRX make a comeback with fuel injection but maintain the classic syling that it had.

old school

I know I still like my 1985 GS1150ES. Of course it has been an on going project. Newer model GSXR front end and wheels/brakes. 1395cc Mr Turbo kit too. still a fun bike to ride.

That's a good lookin gs!

My first bike was a 88 ninja 750. I guess I'm "new skool" because I didn't care for that nike after the 05 636 then the 06zx14... I've never looked back!

If I had to choose from the older ones it would be a kz1000.

I had my 83 red and white cb1100F for years now and I love her just as much as my 14!
Just need to fix a spun #3 rod bearing that happened at a little over 155 mph . But she sure looks pretty in my garage

The 2007 zx14 is the oldest school bike in my garage with the mind boggling 6K miles on the clock... still running as strong as the day I last dyno tuned it this past summer:

I am too young to understand the "oldschool," but I respect and love the classic styling! Keep the pics and stories coming. I hope I can say 30 years from now that I bought my zx14 way back when and I still have it!

I had a Red&White CB1100F too from 83 thru 1998. Sold it to get a new 98 ZX-9R.
Still have a 1986 FJ1200 got it in 1990.Had too many bikes.
Pulling the head on your 1100F is fun, two cam chains to deal with. I miss
that Honda.

The Honda CB1100 looks great. I like the UJM look. I have a b12, which had the classic look (it has been fightered) and the zx14 which is pretty modern looking. Love 'em both.

Depends. In your daydream, is this song playing on your Ipod as you cruise on the bike?

Also, do you imagine yourself ramping fences and riding next to a girl on a horse?

turbo

I don't know, the ZRX has a newer based motor and they make good power. Mine has all the goodies and on "good" gas makes 311 rear wheel H.P. It is a torque monster and when I take it to the local track for test & tune nights all the young guys on 600's try to get beside me at first. after all it is an old bike. I guess the turbo under the tank and behind the motor throws them off. I had a 1978 Kawasaki Z1R 1000 I sold last year on Ebay. a guy from Japan bought it. It was original paint and everything except it had a KerKer exhaust.

Oh yeah the honda has it's moments! You can't even remove the head in the frame!
I miss riding her, I need to fix that damn problematic #3 bearing and get her on the road

(I just love the styling of the true naked bikes and the ZRX is really a cool bike)

The ZRX is the bike that made me sell my last KZ. The first ride on that bike made my jaw drop! styling resembling the past but technology in my opinion leaving the dinosaurs in the dust. My buddy still has a KZ and I dont even want to look under the sheet at it.
I think my favorite bike to keep in the garage would have to be the SR650...the red one. Can you imagine the bike of the future that leaves the ZX14 in the dust making it old school?

Wow the bike of the future. I think it'll be like something from the movie Judge Dredd
