Michelin PR2 observation
Hey Guys.
I've got the Michelin PR2s fitted front and rear and have done about 3000 kms on them. I like the tyres but have noticed something weird with them. When walking the bike, I've notice a kind of bumpy feeling in the tyre. It almost feels like you've got knobly dirt tyres on. I'm not sure if this would indicate some sort of problem with the tyre, or wrong pressures etc? I run my tyres as per the book on about 40-41PSI. Has anyone else noticed this?

Hmm I don't have any experience with those tires . Do they have big rain grooves in them?

No, I notice it mainly on a perfectly smooth concrete floor, and when I'm just walking the bike out ready for a ride.
Yes, they've got fairly prominent grooves in them. It feels like each groove is bumping on the surface. The tyre appears, and handles totally fine though.

Can you feel any "Cupping" on side walls of front tire? Tread pattern has highs and
lows worn. Hard to just see but can feel. Seen this on a FJR1300 with same tires
but had 6,000 miles on them. I use the same tires and so far with 3,500 mils no
bumpy feeling in shop when moving 14. Another friend has a 2006 14 and gets 6,000
street/trip miles same Pilot tires no problems.

I've felt that twice before: you broke a belt in your tire on a curb or pothole or something. Replace it immediately! get the tire up and spin it, it will be pretty obvious and the broken belt will show itself. Good luck.

I had that happen with my front tire just recently and I made a thread here about it.
The front tire developed a bulge that was felt in the steerin at parking lot speeds. I remember hitting a pothole a while ago but nothing happened for a few thousand miles.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I'll get the tyre taken off and check that out.
Cheers.
