High pressure oil valves
Schnitz has a new product for 06/09 zx14.
Presumably more oil flow at high revs.
Do you think they would prolong engine life?
Now for my dumb question , where do you instal it?
Schnitz # RPM124
If it is an easy install it might be a good idea?
Thanks for any thoughts

It costs US$79.95 and then they recomend using the Muzzy heavy duty oil pump cover,
this adds another US$49.95.
It adds approx 30% more oil pessure.
If it realy does prolong engine life with nitrous/turbo applications it is cheap.

It replaces the pressure relief valve in the oiling tube. You have to pull the pan to get to it.
It will only increase oil pressure at high revs. It will stay closed when the factory piece would normally start to bleed off pressure.
Is it required? Well, I don't hear of many high rpm oiling failures on stock motors. The reason the oil pump cover is suggested is because it is going to work the hell out of that pump and I guess the stock cover might not be up to it. It will probably also cost a little hp since you are running that pump with your motor. The biggest problem area for oil pressure damage is at low rpm, from what I understand. This pressure relief will presumably offer zero benefit in that area.

People also shim the stock pressure relief for the same effect, a mod which costs under $1. But I wouldn't do that unless you have an accurate way of measuring the relief pressure.

I know this is suppose to be a high pressure relief BUT Greg at HPC reportled an increased the oil pressure at idle up. The only way this make sense is if the stock valve is leaking. Has anyone else measured this mod?

ive heard of the stockers leaking(possibly a 12 not a 14, but same idea) and it was cured by lapping it. BE SURE ITS CLEAN AFTER IF YOU DO THIS!!!

A .040" thick washer installed in your stock one will do the same. That's what I did on my ZRX.

Entropy logs oil pressure. Ask over in the Dragbike Zone.
