Back from track :) I just walked in the door and am smiling ear to ear even though it was a 45 minute ride in the down pouring rain. The wife has the slips and I only got three runs in but the 1st one was the best. 2nd run I hit the limiter HARD and thirs one had a bog launch. Of course she was not there yet but I got vids of the other two. I will get them up in about an hour or so.

60ft-1.9062
10.6279@132.82
That was the first and I did not realize where it ended and I let off early. That was my worst MPH of the night. My best 60' was the second run @ 1.8553 but hit the limiter and ended up 10.8511@134.40 mph.
Nobody guessed it exact but two guys had it at 10.62! Very close.
It was TOTALLY different at the track compared to the street. The noise is what really surprised me as I could not hear my bike while staging well at all. I wish I would have gotten more passes but the rain started and that was it.
I must have forgotten how to count as my wife said I got 4 runs in instead of three. I will post the video of my last run here shortly. My big problem was not engaging the clutch enough initially like I had practiced this morning. Now that I got the 1st time out of the way I am ready to improve next friday.

Until you get use to it, its hard getting that 1-2 shift down. The best money you can spend is test and tune's!

Good job Rich, I told you not to worry about running worse than an 11. Keep going to the track and you will just get better each time.

Thanks guys, I am really regretting that missed 1-2 shift. That 60ft was better then my first run and I also knew to stay on it past the last cone. I wonder what that one would have come out at????? Oh well, next Friday with another week of practice.
There was 2 busa's there and 1 other 14. All these guys had some experience and I had better times then the 14 and one of the Busa's. The other Busa ran 10.30's. All these guys have pretty much the same mods as myself. The fastest guy at the track had a ZX-10R. His bike was super low like Comptons and was stretched 8" with an air shifter and geared. He was running low 9's.
As for cars the had a 6.5 second Chevy. Watching him run was one of the coolest things I have ever seen. There was also a guy on a snowmobile that supposedly won Pinks down in Texas.
I was very surprised at how friendly everyone was INCLUDING THE BUSAS!! They eyed me up right away so I did not talk to them at first but they both came up to me later.
I can't wait till next Friday, there is a lot of room for improvement. If it were not for this site I can assure you I would have been in the 11's all night with no clue how to improve. You guys rock and I will keep you posted on my progress.

Great news Rich! It sounds like you had a great time, and that is the most important thing. You're time? I "Just missed it by THAT much"...as Maxwell Smart would say. .O7's pretty close though. Just one piece of advice at this point. Don't do what I did after my first time out. From then on it seems like I changed at least one thing on the bike just about every couple of times at the track. I never allowed myself an opportunity to get used to it. Get used to what you have and then do whatever changes you want to do. Congratulations, sounds like you had a great time, and your ET was pretty darn good. Take it easy, my friend. David

David, great advise! I am not changing anything this year. I would really like to be able to break 10 sec with the bike set-up as is. I definitely think it is possible especially if I loose a couple...or 50 pounds
My goal for next Friday is no 60' over 2 sec and at least one pass over 140 mph.

Those times are familiar when we took the Stage 1 turbo to the track for the first time. Yesterday in full street legal trim, mirrors, lights and all, turned a 9.45 @ 150.6 mph. hitting the rev limiter so the times can improve. The 1/8 is still poor trying to get a good hook up but coming along. 34,350 miles on bike total now with a clutch replace and license bulb along with an APE manual CCT install.
