sag adjustment

I went to the onthethrottle.com link from here and watched the suspension settings video. It said that 11/4 to 11/2 rear sag is a good starting point. I found my rear spring spinner nut cranked fairly tight with 3/4 sag with rider and gear.(the 14 manual says spring length is 6.9-7.5)

I spun the adjuster up toward the top of the shock and checked the sag as I went. I have adjusted it quite a bit...easily an inch from where it was. I can touch flat-footed now and still have around 3/4 of an inch sag. I have around 3-4 threads showing above the top adjuster now.

the front springs were at 3 lines showing (8 total backed out soft/ loose) 4" of tube showing below seal. I have it at 3 1/2-5/8 now. I weigh 170 fully suited.

I am curious what others have done for street riding settings.

sound off with rebound and compression settings for similar weight riders...thanks guys-- Darin

I say thats too much!!!...How much you weigh, do you ride people???

Did you go for a ride on a bumpy street to see how it reacts?...Does it wallow in the fast turns?

I weigh 164 after dinner and rarely have passengers. It raining here so I haven't ridden it yet. It's said this bike is set up for 150 lb riders. When I got it.. all adjustments were closed tight!

If they were closed tight, then the dealer messed with it and no longer set up for a 150lb. rider...

That sucks...

You have alot of combinations to test now...

Make sure you go for a 1/2 hour ride to warm the suspention up first...

I weigh 210 and I only made the shocks a little stiffer. Rides good to me.
