"Engine flush"

Starting to think about getting the bike ready for storage. Ran across a couple product designed for automobile engines - both called "engine flush" - one made by Motomaster the other Penzoil. Concept is to add to oil, start and idle a 5-10 minutes, then drain/change oil.

Products claim to:
"Remove gum, varnish and sludge from internal engine parts and oil passages to help increase engine life. Also helps loosen piston rings, valves and lifters to restore optimum engine performance"

Wondering is anyone has used anything similar for bike application? Seems like a valid concept.
I have some concerns as to how this may affect the clutch fibers?
Thoughts/comments?

Further - since I haven't found anything motorcycle specific, any concerns with running an automotive injector cleaner through the bike?

I would not use it.

Obviously it's probably not designed for wet clutch systems...but more than that...how much gum, varnish, and sludge do you think could be in there?

Regarding the injector cleaner, it should not be a problem. I have run some fuel system cleaner through the bike since I use MR9. It may or may not help, but should not hurt.

If you are planning to store the bike then I would use an oil stabilizer such as "lucas" to keep every thing coated . I once had an engine I ran lucas in that I tore down after it was sitting for 2 years and there was still Lucas stuck to all the cam lobes and the inside of the valve cover
Great stuff! Also car injector cleaner should work fine...

Just used the engine flush made by Motul. Stuff looked like off-road diesel and smelled like any other petroleum distillate. Oil came out darker. Have 20K on my 14.

If there's a motorcycle specific engine flush out there for wet clutch bikes, I don't know. Fuel stabilizer and an oil & filter change is the norm with good results.

good Fuel injector cleaner, never used it on the 14. Not much snow in Texas ride it

Sea Foam works well as a fuel stabilizer. Used it for years in outboards that sat for 9 months in AK.
Used it in my 14 while in Ak. this summer. No problem.

I wouldn't use engine flush on a bike personally. It's diesel. I had a car motor I used that in and it cleaned it alright BUT flushed all the crap through the filter and back into the motor. I didn't drive the car but let it warm up and dumped it. I filled it back up with regular oil. The motor seized up within a month.

Seems like it would be better to add stabilizer to the last of the gas and then let it run till empty
Motomaster never heard of it
Penzoil dont even go there

Keep a full tank for storage with stabilizer. Run for a short time to get it in through to the injectors before storage. Not sure about moto/penz products.

If you live in an area where there is alot of moisture, I would coat any external metal parts with a light coat of wd-40. Full tanks of fuel w/ stab. Keep the tires off the ground. Disconntect the neg terminal on the battery unless doing a battery tender. Add some Decon around the bike as small animals are looking to nest in the winter (depending where you live). Cancel your insurance for that winter. I dont believe in adding somthing in the oil to hibernate the engine. Just drain and fill in the spring.
