Dragstrip results with Brocks CT Series exhaust
A couple weeks ago me and Chad decided to order Brocks titanium CT Series exhaust for our ZX14's
** I do not work for Brock so do not take this as spam. **
The exhaust is TOP NOTCH ! The fit and finish is amazing.
So last night me and Chad decided to go to the 1/8th mile dragstrip and see what kind of results we could get out of it. I have had a Muzzy exhaust on my bike for the past 2 years and did not have any complaints but the Brocks has a lot more ground clearance and makes more power.
So now on with the results. My ZX14 is stock wheel base, stock motor and footshifting. The best with the Muzzy was 6.10 @ 124.6 mph I have not changed anything on the bike other than the exhaust and Brocks map. My best last night was a 5.97 @ 127 mph. My short times were 1.50 & 3.97 . Chad went a 5.96 @ 127mph also.
Needless to say, we am very happy with quality and power of the exhaust .

Hey Zack, are the header tubes tilted at the collector for increased clearance??
I have the standard Brock's header and it does sit low, due to the stacked header tubes.
Great ET's and results...any photos coming? How about a return to Maxton??

My home computer crashed so it will be a few days before I can post up some pics. I'll take some pics of the headers for you to.
I doubt if I can make it to Maxton this year cause I am saving my vacation for when the baby is due. We will be back to Maxton soon but with a new lightweight Millholland jockey.

The dyno chart shows this system is going to kick ass at WOT. Midrange flat out kills with a little more on top than other excelent systems offer. Bottom looks real good too.
How is it for street riding? Is it at least as good as the stock sysytem at partial throttle from idle to 3K?

That's faster than a bike with a smeg and nitrous. Maybe i should have saved my money and paid twice as much instead of buying my smeg lol.
Hey Mad... How much do you guys weigh and what was the Density Altitude of your track if you don't mind me asking. I'm not saying that it can't be done (especially with a 1.50 60ft) but TNT is 145 lbs on a 6 over bike with a muzzys and gearing and on the same short times his bike runs 5.98-6.05 at about 118-122. I'm sure your air is better than Texas air though.
Your MPH and times just don't seem to add up.
Great job on the short times though.

When comparing the midrange of the CT to the Alien Head, I noticed that the CT system was much leaner through the midrange. 13.4:1 vs. 12.9:1 for the Alien Head. I wonder if that mapping difference is a large contributor to the hp difference of 7 hp in the midrange?
I don't know enough to say, but it kind of jumped out at me. I'm anxious to see the pics of the header, to see how the clearance is..

I am gonna guess that if Zack weighs what Chad weighs its about 115lbs???? Right???? That bike is flying if its stock wheelbase and runs 127 mph in the 1/8. Nice times though but I am willing to bet that it has tons more done to it than just the new Brocks exhaust.

Hey guys, I'll answer some since Zack's computer is down.
Chad usually weighs 128 or so, Zack stays 10 to 12 pounds heavier.
Chad bought a silver '08 recently, it may have 500 miles on it by now.
The air was good and the track was hooking. Zack's best was a 1.50, 3.97 & 5.97.
Chads was a 1.49, 3.96 & 5.96.
Both are stock wheelbase, footshifting & using pump gas. Chad use to run mid 5.90's @ 128-129 on his ZX10R using pump gas on stock arm too.
Brocks CT Series pipes are awesome. They both bought the single side systems.

Hey Shane,
Below are some pictures I took this evening, hope they help and are what you wanted to see. If not, just let me know and I'll take some more.
Notice that the drain plug is lower than the pipe. They really put some time in on this system.
Bawls,
The air was good, low humidity and the temperature was in the mid 70's.
Lee,
We're hoping to go to a 1/4 mile track in the near future, none close by. We are all curious what the bikes will back-half too.
Zack's bike is an '07 with a PC using Brocks 200mph map and BMC filter, geared and lowered.
Chad's is an '08, no PC yet. Geared and lowered too.
The boys were riding good, I am proud of their hard work and effort. I believe with some MR9 or similar fuel they could possibly go quicker.

Dan, Zack & Chad: I assume that you all are running at 411? Are you all planning on going there this week? Those are simply awesome numbers, and much faster than the turbocharged and/or lowered bikes at Knoxville Dragway. Before I deploy again here very soon, I would like to see if I can improve my miserble elapsed times with decent mph's at stock height and wheelbase. Congratulations on making the Busa's/ GSXR's look slow.

Hey Tony,
411 hasn't been hooking, Donnie don't wanna spend $10 for some VHT !!
This past Friday evening we went to Crossville and that's where these times are from. It's farther up there but they always have the track prepped (Zack had 48 psi in his rear tire) and you can 'bout hot lap. Both boys made a ton of passes.
The air is always better & cooler up on the plateau.
Knoxville's track usually hooks good but most of the time the crowd is so big it's hard to make a bunch of runs.
I dunno if they are gonna run this week-end, depends on the weather. They haven't raised their bikes back up yet.
I hope we can hook up. If we don't, good luck on your tour & stay safe.

That explains the mph!!
Track prep must be great to hook with that psi, and lightweight riders..

Here's my regular Brock's header, for comparison:

Zack's bike:

Definitely looks like increased clearance. Not sure if the picture angle is just the same, but it's pretty close. Also, I have a flat drain plug with the guard removed on mine...so it won't be there for reference, in the photo.
