Garett GT30 oil feed line /replacement

Have it all together and found oil leak in oil feed line. I've looked how I know to, to find replacement oil line hose, but do not know what type of fittings/sizes are on that hose for the ATP kit. Also, can anyone provide that type of fitting screws into the Garett turbo for the oil feed line to connect to, as well?

I want to replace the oil feed line and would like to put on two new fittings, as well.

The oil restrictor I was sent for the GT30 has a different type fitting and does did not mate to the oil line that came with the ATP kit.

OEM oil restrictor is right side (Brass). One I made is left side, but has the correct size fitting (front part fitting) that mates with the oil feed line. You can see that the OEM , right side fitting, has a larger-different fitting type. The other ends on each fittings, however, do thread into the turbo and T connector correctly.

I've yet to understand the various thread types/fitting types.

Any help is appreciated.

The oil restrictor will be 3-an or 4-an, as wiil the ATP feed line.
The fitting in the turbo is NPT, 3/8 I believe.... but not sure.
At work away from home right now and can't help you.

The oil feed line can be replaced at your local performance shop, wit a nitrous line of similar length.
Also, get rid of the PTFE tape.
Use Locktite thread dope in a tube, whichever is the highest rated made. It will not desintigrate in oil and gasoline like teflon tape....
the -an fittings are conical, as you can see, and the sealing faces mate for sealing, nit the threads.
NPT threads are tapered threads, and just a little pipe dope will do

Do not use teflon tape in hydrocarbon service, it breaks down and leaks.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Teflon tape is a turbo killer. Strands of it can get into the oil galley and get in the bearings and cause failures. It is very rare to happen but does happen. Cotton braided hydraulic hose is best for oil feed and return lines as it can tolerate high temps.

not trying a pissing match .. but if i had a dollar for every pipe fitting we put together in the oil and gas fields of Texas with 100's or 1000's of lbs of pressure on it .. without leaks for years... well i wouldn't need to play the lottery

Lyle,

Great info. tks. It took about 1 1/2 to get the full system off again, compared to 1/2 day before.

You know, the way the kit was instructed to mount, that oil feed line is about impossible to replace since it is rotated to the back at about 11 o'clock, looking at it from the right side of the bike. So the header flange is above and right. commencing at 12 o'clock.

I may look at rotating that inner piece some, see if I can the oil inlet to in front of the header flange -more forward on bike, and that way it'd be accessable. And then get a short 90 for the oil outlet to the scavange pump (wish I could get rid of that), so the ground clearance will remain ok.

tks you all for the heads up on teflon! Since this is off the bike now, will redo.
