Smokin lost his 14 to a Goldwing
I heard some Goldwing bet Smokin for a pink...

Never Judge a book by it's cover. I knew a guy who swears in the twisties he could take most of the 600's 750's and 1000's you could put up against him. He rode a GS500. Although never seen I do that know he could do amazing things with a FJR1300, and I was always behind him. He was a Harley Police Cop, go figure.
In 1999, I was riding home from work and a women on a large goldwing-like BMW pulled up beside me throttled up a couple of times and she was gone. Blew me away how smooth and very very fast she rode. I too was left in the dust.

The camera bike was very low in the RPMs and didnt seem very experienced in cornering or accelerating in the turns. What was he scraping on the right side? His exaust?? Seemed like a smooth road!

Thats Yellow Wolf on the Goldwing. He practices all the time and its common to see him at Deal's Gap.
To state the "Goldwing" is faster on the Tail of the Dragon than the litre leaners and 600's bike for bike is is sillyness. The locals with sportbikes/motards that practice on that road day in and day out make it through there faster.

Yup and that's an old vid -- many years in fact, but that fucker can blow away a lot of riders on that Wing...albeit, a hot rider on a sport bike can do it faster for sure. Some of the issues with the Wing in the Gap is that the bike has a very, very limited lean angle...
