Rattle at 3-4k rpm?

Hi guys

I just got an 2008 zx14,, have about 350 miles on it. And around 3-4k rpm's I hear what wounds like BB's rattleing in a soup can.

After a little research it could be the chain cam tensioner?

What else might it be? Hopfully simple...

I dont want to have issues with this bike,, I really love it.

I think after 7-8krpm's it settles out,, and or I cant hear it anymore.

All is stock.

Advice? Same issue? Please respond

Thanks
in
Advance!!!!!!

what throttle position? What fuel you using?

Thats exactly what detonation sounds like, and shit fuel is more prone to detonating at wfo throttle, in lower RPM's , under more load and less RPM

if it is like a buzz and humming noise than remove the windscreen you will see tip over sensor - put zip tie around the rubbers really tight and you are good to go.

Sounds to me like it is the Tip Over Sensor located behind the windscreen. The TOS on my 2008 was so loud that it bothered me even after i put on a much louder full Yosh exhaust system. The spacers used to mount it were to long so i ground them down a bit and I wrapped the TOS in foam and thats the last i heard from it.

I just put on a zero gravity st. screen and noticed that those two things under the screen were really really loose,,, must be the tip over sensors right?

Thanks

problem with the sensor is that even with screws fully tighten it is able to vibrate. .... so take a small zip tie and put it on top of rubber - dig it in there. zip tie goes vertically. around the sensor i hope that is clear. WISH i had a pic it would be lot easier to explain that way.

Once it heats up does it stop? Do you have an aftermarket exhaust?

So just one zip tie? And it goes around the waist area of the yellow lines?

Good thanks BusaK... I will get this worked out tonight.

Really as long as that is what it is,,, I dont really care about the rattling.

I had my windscreen off the other day and put a zero gravity st on,, this will give me the time to paint the bottom of it black,, you can see thru it and the wires look like crap.

Thanks. I will keep you posted.

2 zipp ties; one on each side. i hear you with this bike there are few annoying things.
other things you have to look forward to is oil seep from the valves - no big deal.
get extended warranty if you are worried. - cheap on ebay.
