i need help.. a bazzaz ?

ok most time i just call support .. but i'm gonna see how smart someone is with these units ..

bazzaz z-fi and a z-amf unit .. ok i was reading the whole 7 page manual and nowhere does it go into detail to state how to adjust map down low ..only info was self mapping is activated after 5% tps and over 3k rpm .. thats fine but how do you input fuel changes down low ..i tried clicking on box and manually input a fuel number ..but it doesn't work ..i read the manual twice in that category and it says you can insert fuel changes manually ..

now why i'm want to change low(idle) fuel map is at idle the 02 sensor is reading 16.7 off the scale .. but bike idles fine and when it revs up it drops to around 13.0 a/f.. which is ok

this is my first bazzaz unit to own and i did not purchase it ..it was already installed on bike

this is copy from the online manual

(1) FUEL ADJUSTMENT MAP
a) Enter +/- % fuel adjustments directly into cells (NOTE: Adjustments are saved directly into the ZFI memory)
b) Use the mouse to select a range of cells to fill with the same value or to change by a fixed value
c) Use the page up / page down keys to add or remove fuel

maybe there something wrong with the software i installed and need to reinstall it .. but i can not get fuel changes manually

Self mapping is sweet !!!

why add fuel down low, if too rich then it wont idle smooth...I would leave it alone

CR i learnt from my turbo bike that to high of an a/f down low makes it idle erratic and stumbles from take off ..

and my new bike with the bazzaz does just that at take-off from a redlite ..goes out about 10 feet and stumbles (falls flat ) before it catches and go ..

and yes i like the self mapping unit ..

theres a nice long write up on the bazzaz and its problems on gixxer .com .. but i'm getting ready to call bazzaz support.. cause from the postings on gixxer .com it seems to be a job to tune under 3000 rpm ..and it was never real clear cut on how to

"input fuel changes down low "

go into the map, select the cell/cells you want, below 3K, and input your percent change there. I largely have made my 1-3K based upon the idle A/F for a 13.1.
seems to work fine.

That method worked for non-turbo and turbo as well. I only really start a more rich 'turbo' A/F from 4K (at 13.1) ramping up to 6K (12.5) where it remains most rich to top.

that what how i taught it should work JDC.. But for some reason i can't get the cell block to stay hi-lited for input ...as soon as i hit the key to put a number in ...it re-hi-lites at a cell next to the 1 i'm trying to put A/F numbers into ..

but i just got done putting the exhaust back on and will try tuning below 3 k again ..

Hi Guys,
been away for a few days with familly.

Robert,
With the ZX10 unit I installed, All I had to do was highlight the cell as JDC said, and it would take what ever input I put in it as JDC did.

I do not know what else to tell you, but to work with Bazzaz tech support.

I know its a useless answer for you, but thats all I have.
Sorry,

Lyle
