can you change power commander maps on a blackberry?
I finally got a new phone yesterday. I have been told that you can put your power commander software and maps on a black berry and change maps with it. I want to know can you really do this and if so how do I do it? I would be a nice feature so I can have my "race" map and a street map, and my cheater map for passing inspection. The cheater map is very lean, and great for inspection, but would not want to ride the bike with it in. so being able to change the map right before inspection would be great. I know I can get a power commander lcd display and do this but i simple don't want one. thanks for the help. if it makes a difference I bought the blackberry storm

If you can upload the dynojet software into the Blackberry then you should be able to hook it up to your PowerCommander...

zx.
As it's a new phone you may not have had chance to upload anything yet.
I'd practice the whole uploading thing into a normal computer etc (I don't have anything as fancy as your phone), but i'd learn the uploading routine and then do that same procedure on the Power Commander.
The other replies seem to think that it should work - but not askign if you are getting any error msgs etc.
If you do have a go and get error msgs, post them up. Have you tried looking up any BB forums?

I was saying that the map is a simple excel file which if your phone allows editing of theses files it should be a simple procedure.

Interesting. I'm on ny blackberry most of the time when on here. But where would you hook the pc into the phone? There's no output for it, unless it uses the charger spot.

The charger "spot" is a mini USB port...... So yes, the charging port is also the data transfer port.

yes you need a mini usb to mini usb cable which I have. My buddy has a blackjack that runs on windows format and I can load it and use it just the same way as you can with a lap top on his phone. But I have herd you can do it with a blackberry as well. I am tring to see if this is true. if not i am gonna trade in the phone for one with a windows based format

still working on it. I have been told that you need to download a power commander app for the phone. but I can find the app yet. with a windows based phone you don't need the app. I might trade in the phone after this week end. I'll update when I know more

It won't work for the simple fact that the Blackberry uses a different kind of operating system than the PC software was written for. I think most of the phones use a version of Linux, or Windows or Apple software written for smaller devices. These devices don't have the API drivers needed for the software to run.
But, I could be wrong. I know I had a pocket PC, which uses Windows Pocket PC software, and it was a no go. Dunno anything about Apples, other than they taste good, and Mac is a truck, I think.
And what the hell is an API?? An API stands for Application Programming Interface, and is basically a program that allows your hardware to talk to your software. So, you try and plug the little mini USB plug into your Strawberry, does your Strawberry have the correct API that allows it to talk too the software. And, I think the answer there is no.
