LOL
I am willing to post anything and everything except security / theft related info...
I am installing an alarm, and until I determine what info is safe to publicise, it will remain private... thats for the good of us all too.
Last thing we want is to publicise the ignition wiring and anti theft info on a public forum.
Its hard enough to keep our precious bikes away from theives

Lyle,
Hey the turbo oil feed restrictor came in today.
You could not get a needle through that restricted orifice! ... meaning Garett, compared to this ATP turbo kit install, has really cranked back the oil use necessary for the GT30.
Also, with such a small orifice, I can understand your placement decision, right on the turbo, cause it would look like it will just squirt a very small stream into the turtbo...
which outta get that lor idle oil pressure up pretty nicely, I'd think.
and if it is on the other end of the oil feed line, coming off the oil sending unit T, it may take a little time to fill the line up before the turbo gets any oil.
So there is the good, and the bad ( meaning I have to take the turbo off to get the restrictor on for proper use).

dropping the turbo is pretty easy though, especially compared to crank bearings.
Yeah they said the hole is .035 or .040 " ....
should make my gravity return work better too!
That restrictor is meant for the ball bearing turbo's, just so anyone else out there reading this, if you have plain bearings or bushing turbo, do not do this mod...
The ball bearing turbo needs much less oil than the bushing turbo's

I am guessing thats the reason many bottom ends were getting burned up... the turbo was getting all the oil, and the crank/ rods were being starved.
Maybe we should make a call to Himini and tell them the trubo's are to be used on bikes with no coolant lines hooked up....? Just to be safe?
I did some more digging around on Psychobike turbo forum and many have been doing this for quite some time though.

Think G-force and you would also be partially correct.
Also, some ZX14 engines were just weak. The oil "port" to the #3 rod bearing isn't the best, and that is the last bearing that gets the oil, so it's usually the one that goes tits up first. It's a very complex problem.
But, if you plan on doing any drag racing/prolongued wheeling, you must have an oil pan with baffles in it, and the only one out there that I would trust is the Adams pan. Otherwise, it's "bad news bears".

? baffles meaning internal walls of some sort?
Why not just keep the deeper OEM pan?

JDC, I don't think you will ever generate the g force to make it an issue on the street -traction
Also, with the additional oil system volumes associated with a turbo, especially one without an oil restrictor, It would probably be quite easy to pump allot of oil out of the pan, before the oil returned to the sump, so spinning the tire excessively, and revving the pissout out of it are things we may want to avoid, especially on turbo bikes without a scavenge pump
