What's gas?
So, I've had my 14 for over a year but only driven it for about 6 months. She has apx 3000 miles on her. I have the flies removed and d&d slip-ons. The book says that she has a 5.8 gallon gas tank. Well, I have driven a little past the "fuel empty" and stilll never put more than 4.3 gallons in her. I have also never been over 160 miles in a tank of gas. So my question being... how big is the tank and how long should it be before fill ups? I get an average of about 33 mpg right now.
bye the way. I love this forum. Never have I met such helpfull people. y'all kick butt.

Sounds like my 2007. 5 gal. of gas every 160 miles. I average about 32 MPG even on the
hiway. When the dash starts blinking there is about 1.5 gallons of gas still in tank. It might
get better gas milage if I had stock gears on it but not much.

My dash starts blinking "low fuel" at the 140-150mile range, which is usually just over 4.5 gallons needed to fill it. I've ran it to 180 miles before, fingers crossed when I forgot my wallet at home and was solo riding in the mountains. It took 5.4 gallons, and there was still a fair amount sloshing around inside.

I hate to run the gas level too low as the gas in the tank helps keep the fuel pump
cool.
