hey bundy you probably know by now code 23 is the cam position sensor. check all wires and connections in and around that area . check voltage and make sure it is secure also before you replace sensor. i hope this helps. bundy what kit are you talking about exactly?.

If the cam sensor is not giving the proper time in relation to the rotor, the ecu will not allow the plugs to fire I have been told before.
The ecu must be reset from the dealer is also what i have heard, and if you run a new or different ecu, and it see's the same thing over so many engine cycles, rotations of the crank, it will stimmy the new ecu as well.

No start basic Otto-cycle:
1. Fuel
2. Spark
3. Compression
No start basic computer bike:
1. Crank sensor
2. Cam sensor
3. ECU
Crank and cam have to be within factory spec of that sensor. If it one resistance out of spec, the cam sensor will save the last good known signal. When you turn the key off, she how has saved a bad or non-readable resistance and will not start.
Crank sensor has no saved signal and will not start.
ECU has no saved signal, nor will start.
Cam sensor can save one good signal [whom fired last] and when the key fob is turned?

Comp, we can loophole the tip-over. This is same as the kill switch or kick stand down are no-starts.
These 6 variables are basic raw fundamentals you die with. This is THE key to all that is a no-start generic computer bike is eliminate one is she is a boat anchor.
The others you and I both mentioned are sub-troubleshooting no starts. These 6 are not negotiable to tying two wires together. The kick/tip/kill/key fob/etc are more the root causes of more no starts.
I just wanted to 'Dub' those 6 as your basic codes and not that you are not wrong, Compton. I more or less added you chase these down first or why not the tip/kill first is either way, one will show up as your no start scenario.

Once you fix the sensor / problem the code will turn off. I had a very similar problem and it took me days to fix. Ended up my damn cat chewed the wiring harness on one of the sensors. Soldered it back together and light went off.

Cat's fired, but get it a toy to chew instead. You're just lucky it didn't piss on it instead...that would have stunk forever.
