ZX-14 Storage/ Sport Bags
What kind of bags are folks using for some sport touring? I have seen Cortech I think on some members bikes. Would the sport bags have enough room for a small tent and clothes, like if you had to stay for a few days. I was looking at the sport tail bag and saddle bags. If they are not big enough will the tri bags fit on the 14 ? Any of them would have to work with the Brock's street meg. Any info or insight appreciated on these or other brands. I do not want to use a tank bag. Thanks!

I love my Cortech full set up. Tank, tail, and saddle bags when I hit the highway. Don't strap them too hard because you will stress the rear plastics. In addition, don't put them on your bike if your bike is a "show" bike. That protective material they put between your bike and the bags isn't 100% effective and will create fine scratches over time. Keep your plastics waxed or such before you put them on and you can slow this down. Other than that, very good bags. Oh...one more thing. If you go over 130 with the rain covers on don't be surprised if they blow off. Trust me I know, lol.

I used the Icon Tank bag last weekend and it did great? I like a bag that will seat all four magnets on the tank where I do not have to use any straps

I also have the Cortechs that butta4hc shows.
But I have their Duffle Bag which holds more but isnt as stylish.
The rain covers work. I got in some serious rain with mine.
I'd think you would have to strap a tent to the top bag.
I also have the Cortech tall tank bag. works great, has good volume and doesnt get in my way much.
I used colored duct tape to protect my paint from rub scratches, and the plastic does make scary creaks if you start cranking on the straps.
Givis would be the ideal though.

LOL. Great minds think alike. I can say that all THREE bags work better together as opposed to just the tail bag or just the saddle bags. Trust me I know.

Kriega, pay the extra money for the ultimate best.
And when you see the quality of the little US10 bag I just ordered to sit on the back seat of the Honda.... you're gonna be like wtf heheheh
Get the US20 that mounts to US10 bags on the sides and your bike is set for the trip

Wow Steve! Man, how do you find items like these? I went to the Kriega web site and the US20 looks to mount right on the backseat(drypack & carrier bag included). Did you see a different mounting style( IE:Get the US20 that mounts to US10 bags on the sides and your bike)? If so, can you post pics or at least a website link? Thanks!!

I just picked up the Cortech Steve had ,, the mini with magnets.
I had a joe rocket ray on my old bike,, and it just dosnt fit good.
I searched and searched for the Cortech that has an adaptor for the gas tank cap, and it sits off the tank a little.... but I guess it was another brand.
I think I will be happy with this Cortech mini,,, got it from new enough

I got the Kriega bags on SteveWFL's suggestion, and they are great!
I have a total of 50 liter capacity (one 20 liter, and three 10 liter bags).
One thing you should consider before buying these is if you will need to access the bags during the ride or just at your destination because they don't have zipper closures.
You roll up the top of the bag and snap fasten them with quick release connectors.
I have a tank bag that I keep the things I need easy access to during a ride (water, camera, snacks, etc.) so I only need to get into the Kriega bags at my final stop for the day.
I could see it getting old having to unsnap, unroll, dig around for what you need, reroll, and resnap every time you needed something from the bag at each rest stop. Also the opening is on the side (when mounted), and is only the diameter of the bag as opposed to on the top, and the length of the bag like the Cortech ones.
I attached it to my seat using "the hooker" by Willie and Max (which I already had), and it was very secure. I had no problem doing 150 mph, and it didn't shift on the twisties.
This bag may not be for everyone but I'm very happy with them, and I received many compliments on them. Thanks Steve for recommending them!

I haven't seen the cycleventure stuff before, but i googled them and it looks like it would definitely work with their "Pack Rack" because that has a fairly tall vertical support that it could attach to like the backrest on my seat.
