rear axle cotter key
ok I been switching out the rear sprocket alot lately depending on needs. But i keep breaking and or going through cotter keys. So I have got the idea that I would like to replace the key with a pin. You know like a hood latch pin on a car. but I don't know where to get one. any one got any ideas? what are you using on your bikes if your not using a cotter key?

Home Depot sells some nice clips that are perfect. Look in the drawer/bins on the bolt/hardware aisle...
If nobody else does, I'll see if I can snap a picture later...

TSC also sells them in different sizes...just a little insurance, run them front too back. Never had a problem with one after 3 years of dragracing...

Yeah, mine is wired. I''m able to reuse the wire though.
I like your's, Shane. Gonna see if I can find one next time I'm at the Depot.

They have several different thickness clips. Make sure to get one that takes some force to bend. That way the metal won't bend and lose it's tension easily.

Ask for them by their name, hitch pin clips, at just about any hardware store.

I got 3 of them from my local suzuki dealer. I'm now using the cotter pins that come on the BUZA for my 14. $1.75 for 3 of em!
