just checking in
Just thought that I would drop in and see how everything was going... our internet has been down since I came on and said that i had internet lol. Pretty much all that I've been doing is working out and studying since i got on this floating shithole. I will say that I weighed myself today and I'm down from 185 to 177, so that's good. I've been averaging 3 miles on the treadmill, 5-10 miles on the bike, and 30 minutes on the rowing machine everyday on top of lifting weights at least 3 times a week. I think that with my workout plan and the fact that I've kicked soda's i165 is a fairly reasonable goal with 5 months to go. You guys stay safe out there. Last week was kind of an eye opener for me as I lost another brother that I went through Search and Rescue school with in the helo crash off of san diego.

I have a buddy on a medic copter. He is a diver also. I cannot remember the chopper names fully but you might say it is an aging dead fleet of helicopters here in Canada.
Sorry to hear about your buddy.
No time is a good time.
I am fighting to stay under 200 right now. Soda seems to be my worst habbit.
Floating shit hole. I never heard of that 1 before.
B safe.

lol, it definitely gives me something to do. sitting off the coast of south america you can imagine how easy it is to shed water weight and get dehydrated lol. 100+ degrees and 95% humidity = Hotter than a two peckered billy goat . I've already got the money for my extensions and chain put back in a savings account . Now all I need to do is save the money up for an air shifter and a few odds and ends. Looks like our first port is going to be guatemala... fucking shithole from what I've heard so i'm sure that i'll be wasting some money on booze instead of sight seeing lol.

Bawls,
Wise up. You are serving your country, which a lot of us did, and you should feel proud. In regard to Guatemala, I for one would love to see that country and for you to go boozing yourself away isn't very mature. Keep your eyes open and learn. It's coming to you free so take advantage man--

If you only live once why spend it in a bar and get wasted when you're in a new surrounding? I looked up Guatemala on the internet and three days there including travel would cost about $2,500. Bawls goes in as a war hero, gets native women thrown at him and it costs him nothing-- Why waste the opportunity for excitement and memories?

The place that we're going isn't a tourist location lol. They're now saying that the crime there is bad enough that we may only have a 2 block radius that we can venture out to. I've done a lot of great tours and whatnot on my last south pac. I surfed salulita mexico, corona beach panama, and the longest left hand point break in the world, Chicama peru. We did jungle tours in panama where we climbed waterfalls and ziplined down a river, I spanked a monkey (lol the shithead tried to steal my plate of food ), and took a tour to a private island resort in cartagena columbia where the locals cooked for us. Believe me... if there is anything to do in the place where i'm going i'll get out and do something. I would definitely say that the fondest memories I had from my last deployment were telling stories over rum and cigars in panama or columbia, or doing the duval crawl with the rest of my friends in key west lol. There is lots of fun to be had no matter where you end up and as long as you're not an asshole there's nothing wrong with drinking while doing so. I agree with 14nooby. life is too short. I'm going to drink a few for AW2 Aaron Clingman. He would have done the same for me.

Sounds like you're getting good experiences. Drink up--
I once parachuted into South Korea to fight them in mock war. That night after setting up the tent and crawling inside a hand reached in and knocked on the tent pole. I emerged to encounter a South Korean famer and his daughter around 18 years old. He asked politely "You wanta fuck my daughter? Twenty dolla". Serving in the military offers unique opportunities.
