On the Exhaust dilemma

Well Now living in vancouver I have removed the Brocks sidewinder till I start drag racing again and the BOZ is NO way to make friends in the lower mainland with the noise police , So what system would give best performance and be semi silent ,

I have a full TiForce, and I am flat out shocked by how quiet it is. I was expecting it to be louder than the Akra on my ZRX, but it stays to a nice rumble all the way up. Seriously, it isn't a whole lot louder than stock - you can barely hear it while on the bike. Just the right amount of growl but never the kind of wail or piercing shriek that would get you noticed.

Cops in Vancouver won't bother you unless you cruise the known spots, like Robson or along the waterfront in Whiterock. They also won't stop you unless they see you for the tenth time in an hour...

Full Akrapovic with db killers IN is pretty much as quiet as stock. Simply amazing. It's a 5 minute ordeal poping them in and out.
Nice sound with them out but I think I like the quiet (stealth) mode.
178hp with them out
173hp with them in

You can fit a noise reduction plug, NRP-22, onto a Brocks SMEG which will keep your neighbours happy.

How you ride the bike makes a difference too.

Yosh TRC polished stainless with baffle in is quiet and makes good power.
Look at Ivans performance he sells them and has a Great street map for it.
My friend I ride with has one on his 2006 14. My M14 with Polished Stainless oval muffler was quiet for about 5000 miles and now is a little loud, needs repacking.

For the ultimate street ans strip I would use a Brocks smeg, he has plugs for them to quiet them down, and you can pull the baffle out at the strip.
Versatile and powerful.

My full Yoshi R77 has a baffle plug that can easily be taken out (or put in). I have it out and it isn't quite but it isn't crazy loud either. With it in, I thought it was much more quite. either way it makes good power plus the weight savings over stock was great.

I mean no disrespect to Mr. Brock but Loudest does NOT mean best power curve for street.
AT 5AM a Alien will wake the neighbors if you ride your bike to work. I guess if you
don't care about other women and kids just run a meg with no baffle :-) would not
have helped on the Dyno shoot out Sticks won :-) with a not as Loud Muzzy M14. :-)

I found a louder pipe keeps me slow and quiet by using higher gears. When I want to bump it up, It's there warning others I'm breathing down your neck and to watch the f*#k out. I wear earplugs. either way I'm comfy. I tried a quiet plug (and it sounded like gas in a hot tub) and i took it back out after just a few miles. I feel there's a 12 yr old kid somewhere near the highway bored in his backyard... and hears a bike go by wound out and thinks, wow now there's something I want to do is ride.

The SMEG made an immediate improvement in my riding safety.
With the stock exhaust I would always get cut off from left handers at intersections, and that went away as they could hear me if they couldn't see me, and were looking.
A loud exhaust is proactive, the horn is reactive, and when I get cut off I am too busy making sure I survive to be reaching for the horn.
When coming up on traffic or busy intersections, or about to pass / overtake; I blip the throtte so they know I am there... I ride with my highbeams on too.
