smokin, dubious,, question
does the stock 14 motors break cam chains??with a shock motor with basic brock mods is it necessary to run a manual cam chain tensioner? what kind of gasket sealer should i use on the valve cover??i got a new gasket n shimmed it, but it still leaks,,the bike is an 08 with 14k,,it runs really good

does the stock 14 motors break cam chains??Well not that i have seen.. My 14 with 1200 passes , Jesses 14 with about 1000 passes and with a turbo and spray , Ninja Boys zx14 with 1000+ passes , none of us have had a cam chain go bad ..Unless you build the motor i would forget the manual cam chain adjustor ...
I have yet to have my Valve cover leak on either of my zx14s ..Jesses has a small leak as well as Bigdtd ..I have two new gaskets in stock for them but have yet to get their bikes in the shop to replace them .. If it were me i would use a very light skim coat of hight temp RTV on the flat side of the valve cover gasket , that should do the trick ..Don't use to much because it can be trapped between the gasket and head and cause the gasket to deform or split , Just a very light skim coat is all that is needed..

Add my bike to the list of "leaky valve covers" ZX14s paleez 
valve cover gasket and snot fixed mine for about 3,000 miles.
Then it happened again and many more fixes were implemented. After a few more times of smelling oil every 3,000 miles and downtime to be fixed I called it quits on the fvckin' bike.
Oil changes every 3K are aggravating enough every 3K, but a fvcked up smelly bike is unacceptable !

I had 10,000 HARD miles , average speed on the bike over those 10,000 miles was probably over 100 mph or over 7000 rpm, lots of long distance fast rides.
30 lbs of 50 shot NOS , never had a problem with the tensioner, except a little noise for about 1-5 seconds on start up.

Nothing a good tampon would fix ...Every 3000 miles install a new tampon with you oil change ...

my 04/06 leaked like a stuck hog. damn thing. thats the reason i traded it for a harley , went from one leaker to another lol.
actually my harley nevere leaked till i thought i was on my 14 when i went into a curve way to hot and it started dragin everything till it came out from under me.
but i rode the snot out of that 14 everyday at 100+ and even with the leak and the rattle battle from the cam chain. it still fired up every day and handed ATL street squid there a$$es. im gona give this 07 a punch in the balls if it spews oil on me darnit.
actually the frame says 12/06 i might be in for it.

 WOW, I thought I was pissed off about the leaky junkbike being in the shop so many times for warranty crap, but i didn't go to those extremes
